Crochet Granny Square With Flower Center

Materials;

Crochet Hook

TO start the granny Square with a Flower in the Middle
Chain 4, slip to first to join to make a ring. Working the FIRST round directly into the Ring

Rnd 1: Ch3, (counts as first DC of first cluster) make a further 2 dc, (3dc cluster made) chain 5, sl st in top of the LAST dc, *3dc, ch5, slst in top of the last dc* repeat, 6 MORE times, join with an sl st in top of chain 3 (8 ch spaces, and 8x 3dc clusters are made)


Rnd 2: sc in next dc, *12 dc in next ch5 space, (PETAL), skip 1 dc, sc in next dc *repeat around,slst in first st.

Rnd 3: (change color if you wish the background granny square to be a different color
Flip the work OVER and Work BEHIND the petals just made
*ch5, sc around the post of previous rounds SC, * repeat 8 times

Rnd 4: sl st to next sp, in next ch space {ch3 (counts as dc), 2dc, ch3, 3dc *in nxt ch space, {Corner MADE}, 3dc, nxt ch space, 3 dc, ch3, 3dc * repeat in last chain sp ch1, 3dc, ch1

Working into the Chain spaces to create the first round of the granny square

Rnd 5: sl st to next corner ch3 space, ch3, (counts as first dc) 2dc, ch3, 3dc, [corner made] (ch1 in next ch space, 3dc, ) x 2, ch1 in nxt space (3dc, ch3, 3dc, repeat 2 more times, (in next ch space, ch1, 3dc) 2 times ch1, sl st to join.

Rnd 6: sl st to next ch space, in ch space, ch3, (counts as first dc 2dc, ch3, 3dc *( ch 1 in nxt space, 3dc, (3 times)m, chain 1, in nxt space, (3dc, ch3, 3dc) repeat to * 2 more times (in next ch space, ch1, 3dc, 3 times chain 1 slip to join

If you wish to make the Crochet Square Bigger continue in the established pattern, you will make 1 EXTRA 3dc than in previous rounds, into each side of the square.

Joining the Squares is relatively easy. position them as you want the pattern to follow and then join them together into the Square.
