Crochet Heart Motif Blanket Pattern

Squares:

  3. Rows 2-24: Chain 1, sc in each stitch across. Turn. Fasten off and weave in ends. Make the number of squares needed for your blanket size.

Hearts:

  1. Foundation Chain: Chain 10.
  2. Round 1: 3 treble crochets (tr) in the fourth chain from the hook, 3 double crochets (dc) in the next chain, 2 dc in the next chain, dc in the next chain, 2 dc in the next chain, 3 dc in the next chain, 3 tr in the next chain. Chain 3 and sl st into the same chain.
  3. Round 2: Chain 3, 3 tr in the first stitch, 3 dc in the next stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch, dc in the next stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch, 3 dc in the next stitch, 3 tr in the next stitch. Chain 3 and sl st into the same stitch. Fasten off and weave in ends. Make enough hearts to attach one to each square.

Joining Squares:

  1. Arrange the squares in the desired pattern.
  2. Use a yarn needle and yarn to sew the squares together through the back loops only to create a seamless look.

Border:

  1. Once all the squares are joined, add a border to the blanket by working single crochet stitches around the entire edge.
  2. Round 1: Attach yarn to any corner, chain 1, sc around the blanket, placing 3 sc in each corner. Join with a sl st to the first sc.
