Materials: Worsted Weight Cotton: White – 2 oz, 100 yd (60 g, 90 yd); Green – 1 oz, 50 yd (30 g, 45 yd); Small amounts Red and Yellow. (Sugar ‘n Cream)

Crochet Hook: Size I-9 (5.50 mm)

Gauge: 3 sc = 1”; 7 sc rows = 2”

TO CHANGE COLORS

Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color yo and pull new color through remaining loops on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Special Stitches

V Stitch (v-st): (dc, ch 1, dc) in same st or sp indicated.

Half Triple Treble (htr-tr): Yo hook 3 times, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and draw lp through, [yo, draw through 2 lps] twice, yo and draw through 3 lps on hook.

DISHCLOTH

Row 1: (Right Side) With White, ch 30, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [sc in next ch] across. (29 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (29 sc)

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 14 sc; change color to Green, sc in next sc, change color to White, sc in next 14 sc. (29 sc)

Rows 4-19: Ch 1, turn, following color changes on chart, sc in each sc across.

At the end of Row 19, finish off Green and weave in ends.

Rows 20-29: With White, ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across. (29 sc)

At the end of Row 29, DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Crochet Red Mum Dishcloth

Each square represents one sc.

Work odd-numbered rows from right to left; work even-numbered rows from left to right.

Edging

Rnd 1: Ch 1, * working in sides of rows, skip first row, sc in next 27 rows, skip last row *; working in unused lps of starting ch, 3 scin first ch, sc in next 27 ch, 3 sc in last ch; rep from * to * once; working in Row 29, 3 sc in first sc, sc in next 27 sc, 3 sc in last sc; join with sl st to first sc. (120 sc) Finish off and weave in ends.

Rnd 2: With right side facing, join Green with sc to center sc in any corner, ch 4, 2 dc in same sc, skip next 2 sc, [(sc, ch 4, 2 dc) in next sc, skip next 2 sc] around; join. Finish off and weave in ends.

Flower

Rnd 1: (Right Side) Starting at center, with Yellow, ch 3, sl st in first ch to form ring; ch 2 (counts as first hdc now and throughout), 8 hdc in ring; join with sl st to first hdc. (9 hdc) Finish off leaving long end.

Rnd 2: With right side facing, join Red with sl st to any hdc, ch 4, (htr-tr, ch 4, sl st in same st, (sl st, ch 4, htr-tr, ch 4, sl st) in each st around; join with sl st to first sl st. Finish off and weave in ends.

Finishing – use photo as guide

– Using long end (Yellow), sew center of flower to top of stem on Dishcloth, leaving petals free.
