Right-side row: * 2 knit sts, 2 purls; repeat from *, finish with 2 knit sts.
Main ornament: even quantity of sts.
2nd row: purl all sts.
4th row: purl all sts.
5th row: 1 knit st, * 1 yarn over, pull 2 knit sts through yarn over, repeat from * to end.
6th row: purl all sts.
Make once from 1st to 6th rows, then repeat from 3rd to 6th rows.
Stitches control, main ornament and braid: 16,5 sts and 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Cast on 67 sts on knitting needles 7 for each part of work and knit with selvedge sts, 13 sts of braid, 52 sts of the main ornament, selvedge st. In 74,5 cm = 156 rows from the set-up edge, bind off all the sts. Sew both parts due to the design scheme. Enframe the neck hole with braids. Fasten neck hole with 1 circle row of slip sts. For the placket, cast on 220 sts on the circle needles along one side from front to back beak head, knit 4 cm with rib and bind off all sts due to the ornament. Then cast on 236 sts on the opposite edge, including short edges of placket, from front to back beak head, knit in the same way. For sleeves plackets, cast on 40 sts (= 10 sts on each needle) on the double pointed needles 6 and knit with rib, repeating the pattern. In 20 cm from the set-up row bind off all the sts due to the ornament. Sew the plackets from both sides to upper 10 cm of your poncho.
