I used this gorgeous acrylic yarn; you can use any weight #3 yarn.
You can work this pattern with one color or multiple as you wish.

Instructions
Ch 4
Row 1: Dc 1 in last ch from hook (near the slip knot), ch 1, dc 1 in same ch, ch 1, dc 1 in same ch (this will be your center stitch), ch 1, dc 1 in same ch, ch 1, dc 2 in same stitch, turn work.
Row 2: Ch 3, dc 1 in 1st stitch from hook, ch 1, skip ch 1 space, dc 1 in next stitch, ch 1, skip ch 1 space, dc 1 in next stitch, ch 1, skip ch 1 space, (dc 1 + ch 1) 3 times in next stitch (this is your center stitch), mirror back, finish with 2 dc in last stitch, turn.
Row 3-6: Repeat row 2, work the pattern up to the center stitch (the second of the 3 dc’s) and mirror back. Always start and finish with 2 dc’s in first and last stitch.
Row 7: Ch 3, dc 1 in same stitch, *dc 1 in ch 1 space, dc 1 in next stitch, repeat from * to center stitch, (dc 1 + ch 1) 3 times in next stitch (this is your center stitch), mirror back, finish with 2 dc in last stitch, turn.
Row 8-10: Repeat row 2, work the pattern up to the center stitch (the second of the 3 dc’s), and mirror back. Always start and finish with 2 dc’s in the first and last stitch.
Row 11: Ch 3, dc 1 in same stitch, *dc 1 in ch 1 space, dc 1 in next stitch, repeat from * to center stitch, (dc 1 + ch 1) 3 times in next stitch (this is your center stitch), mirror back, finish with 2 dc in last stitch, turn.
Row 12: Repeat row 2, work the pattern up to the center stitch (the second of the 3 dc’s) and mirror back. Always start and finish with 2 dc’s in the first and last stitch.
**If you want your bandana to be bigger - continue repeating row 2.
Row 13: Final row.

Strap
Row 1: Join yarn to 1st stitch, sc 2 in 1st stitch, sc 2 in next, and across to end of row (spread your stitches to have a straight row).
I work 2 sc in every dc, ch 41, sc 1 in 2nd ch from hook and work your way with sc 1 in each ch, continue sc 1 in each sc across to the opposite side, ch 41, sc 1 in 2nd ch from hook and work your way with sc 1 in each ch, Sl st to join.
Finishing
Cut yarn and weave in ends.
