14 sts over 8 rows = 10 cm/4” square made in double crochet (dc).

With worse weight yarn:

Round 1:

With MC, in a magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc into magic ring, place stitch marker and move with each round. 6 sc

Round 2:

*2 sc in next st, sc in next, repeat from * to the end of the round, move stitch marker. 9 sc

Rounds 3 – 5:

Sc in each st. 9 sc

Round 6:

*2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, repeat from * to the end of the round. 12 sc

Round 7:

Sc in each st. 12 sc

Fasten off MC

Join CC

Round 8:

Sc in each st around 12 sc

Round 9:

Sc in each st around. 12 sc

Fasten off.

With CC, make a small pom and join to the Christmas Hat. Optional – Sew a pom to the base of the spoon holder. Sweep in all ends.
