Crocheting adorable birds is such a delightful and rewarding activity! From their tiny beaks to colorful feathers, there's something truly magical about bringing these cute creatures to life with just a hook and yarn. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or a beginner looking for a fun project, creating crochet birds is a fantastic way to unleash your creativity and add a touch of whimsy to your space. Plus, once you finish making these charming birds, they make perfect gifts for friends and loved ones who appreciate the handmade touch. So grab your supplies, cozy up with your favorite crochet hook, and get ready to craft your very own flock of adorable birds that are sure to bring smiles wherever they go!

What do you need?

- yarn leftovers (I had a bit of DROPS PARIS blue, yellow, grey and beige)
- crochet that fits to your yarn (in my project it’s 4,5 mm)
- black safety eyes 12 mm
- polyester fiberfill

ch – chain
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
inc – increase (two sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (one sc in two stitches)

BODY:
1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
2: (inc) repeat 6 times (12)
3: (1 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
4: (2 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (24)
5-9: 24 sc – 5 rounds
10: (3 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (30)
11: 26 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc, 1 sc (32), insert safety eyes between 7 and 8 round
12: (3 sc, dec) repeat 5 times, (1 sc, inc) repeat 3 times, 1 sc (30)
13: 23 sc, inc, 2 sc, inc, 3 sc (32)
14: (2 sc, dec) repeat 5 times, 12 sc (27)
15: (1 sc, dec) repeat 5 times, 6 sc (16), stuff, fold and sew in the bottom

NOSE:
1: 4 sc in magic ring (4)
2: 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, inc (6)
3: 6 sc, leave a tail for sewing

WINGS:
Don’t crochet around! After every round revers your work and make 1 chain (count it as first sc of next round).

1: 4 sc w magic ring (4), don’t make a circle, reverse!
2: (inc) repeat 4 times (8)
3: (1 sc, inc) repeat 4 times (12), leave a tail for sewing

LEGS:
Legs are just double crochets with a chains between them. Stick your hook in a part of body, where the bird needs to have legs.

1: 1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, 1 ch, 1 dc, bind and hide threads.
Now you can sew the nose and wings and your bird is done!
