Insert safety eyes between rounds 5 and 6, about 7 stitches apart. Begin stuffing the head, shaping out the snout well. Continue stuffing as you go.
R16: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)
R17: 6 dec (6)
Fasten off, sew hole shut, and weave in your end. Embroider a nose with black yarn.

Tail
R1: 6 sc in a magic ring
R2: 6 inc (12)
R3: 12 sc
R4: (2 sc, dec) x 3 (9)
Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing and stuff lightly. Sew onto the body centred between the legs.
Pumpkin Stump
R1: 6 sc in a magic ring
R2: 6 sc
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)
R4-7 (4 rounds): 9 sc
R8: (2 sc, inc) x 3 (12)
R9: 12 sc
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Stuff lightly and sew onto the head of the bear, in between the ears. Once sewn on, you can choose to create a bend in the stump.
To bend the stump:
Take a scrap piece of yarn and thread it onto a yarn needle. Insert the needle about 2 rounds up from the bottom of the stump. Then, insert the needle 4 stitches up from there. Insert your needle in the same spots you just went into and pull lightly on the ends. This should create a bend on the stump. Weave in your ends.
Pumpkin Leaf
R1: Ch 6
R2: sc in the second chain from the hook, hdc, 2 dc, work 6 dc in the last chain stitch. Working on the other side of the chain, 2 dc, hdc, sc. Join with a sl st.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew onto the head of the pumpkin bear on one side of the stump.
Pumpkin Frill
Chain 20. Beginning in the second chain from the hook, work 3 sc in each chain stitch. Fasten off and wrap around the bear's neck. Double knot the ends together through the other side of the frill piece to secure. Weave in your ends.
