Materials:
2 oz of brown or black worsted wt. yarn
small amount of white worsted wt. yarn
small amount of ecru No. 10 thread
1 empty thread cone
Size "G" hook
Size No. 5 steel hook
Hot glue
White glue
One 1-1/2" wood ball with flat bottom for head
DRESS
Join at end of each round
With black
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in second ch. Join (6 sc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same place and 2 sc in each rem. sc. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: In back loop of this row only, ch 1, 1 sc in same place and in each sc around (12 sc)
Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 5: In 3 sc evenly spaced around. (15 sc)
Rnd 6 and 7: Sc in each sc (15 sc)
Rnds 8 thru 28: Repeat rnds 5, 6 and 7. (36 sc in last rnd). Finish off leaving a 12" length to gather.
Slip this piece over cone and gather tightly at bottom. Finish off.
SCAPULAR
With black
Ch 12, join to form a ring.
Front
Row 1: Ch 2, sc in next 6 sc, ch 1, turn (leave remaining sts unworked for later)
Rows 2 thru 9: Sc in each sc, ch 1 turn (6 sc)
Row 10: 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn (8 sc)
Rows 11 thru 16: Sc in each 8 sc. Ch 1 turn
Back
Repeat as for front.
Glue piece to top of dress. You may also want to tack down the bottom of the scapular as it tends to curl.
CAP
With white.
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 8 sc in second ch. Join
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same place and each sc around. Join (16 sc)
Rnds 3 thru 6: Sc in each sc. Finish off.
Glue to wooden head.
SLEEVES
With black
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 8 sc in second ch. Join
Rnd 2. Ch 1, sc in same place and rem. sc. Join (8 sc)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in same place and rem. sc. Join (9 sc)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in same place and rem. sc. Join (9 sc)
Rnds 5 thru 13: Repeat rnds 3 and 4 ending up with 13 sc. Finish off.
Glue to top at sides of dress.
COLLAR
With white
Ch 7 and in back loop of each row
Row 1: 1 sc in next 5 sc, sl st in last sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sl st in sl st and 1 sc in 5 sc, ch 1, turn
Rows 3 thru 28: Repeat rows 1 and 2. Finish off leaving 12" length to finish
Sew sides together. Gather top of collar tightly. Finish off. Glue to top of dress.
VEIL
With black
Ch 7
Rows 1 thru 10: Sc in 6 ch, Ch 1 turn
Row 11: Dec over 2 sc 3 times (3 sc)
Row 12: Insert hook in 1st sc, insert hook in next sc, insert hook in next sc, yo, pull yarn thru 4 loops on hook and finish off.
Row 13: Attach yarn at end of first row, ch 1, sc in same place, 1 sc at end of each row, 6 sc around top and working down other side, sc at end of each row. Ch 1 turn. (24sc)
Row 14: Sc in each sc. Ch 1 turn. (24 sc)
Row 15: Repeat Row 14
Row 16: Repeat row 14, ch 2, turn
Row 17: 1 hdc in next 6 sc, sc in next 12 sc, hdc in rem. 6 sc.
Row 18: Repeat row 17. Finish off
Glue head to top of collar. Glue veil to head.
HANDS
With No. 10 ecru thread and No. 5 hook, ch 14, ch 2, 2 hdc in same place, 1 hdc in each ch to end, 3 sc in last ch. Working on other side of ch, hdc in each ch. Join and finish off. Fold in half and glue together with white glue. Attach to inside of sleeve as shown in picture.
ROPE
With white, ch 50. Finish off. Tie a know at each end and tie around waist.
CROSS
Cut small pieces from a wooden toothpick and form a cross. Glue together with white glue and glue to doll.
