Instructions:

You will need:

  • 120 g of purple and 80 g of pink melange medium thickness acrylic yarn.
  • Crochet hook size 3.5.

Crochet density, double crochet stitches: 20 sts and 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Heel: With the melange yarn, chain 6.

Row 1: Chain 3 (counts as the first double crochet), insert the hook into the 5th chain from the hook and make 1 double crochet in each chain, 3 chains in the starting chain of the base row and continue along the free side of the same chain: 1 double crochet in each chain; finish the row with 2 double crochets in the base chain of the lifting chains, 1 slip stitch in the 3rd lifting chain (= 18 double crochets, counting the lifting chains);

Rows 2 to 6: Chain 3 (counts as the first double crochet), make 1 double crochet in each double crochet from the previous row up to the next chain of the base row, 1 fan of 5 double crochets, 1 double crochet in each double crochet of the base row, 1 slip stitch in the 3rd lifting chain. Repeat this for another 4 rows, increasing stitches at both ends of the work with fans of 5 double crochets.

Sole and sides:

Row 7: Continue on one side of the heel, and on the other side, chain a row for the cuff to be made later (see diagram). Begin the row as before, chaining 3 for lifting and making 1 double crochet in each double crochet of the base row, then make 1 double crochet in the middle double crochet of the first fan of 5 double crochets, chain 28, and 1 double crochet in the middle double crochet of the second fan of 5 double crochets, then 1 double crochet in each double crochet from the previous row, 1 slip stitch in the 3rd lifting chain;

Rows 8 and following (decreasing): Chain 3 for lifting, make 1 double crochet in the next 13 double crochets, then in the next 5 stitches work as follows: 1 decrease (2 double crochets worked together over the next 2 stitches), 1 double crochet, 1 decrease; 1 double crochet in each of the following stitches up to the last 5 double crochets, 1 decrease, 1 double crochet in the next double crochet, 1 decrease over the next 2 double crochets, then 1 double crochet in each double crochet, 1 slip stitch in the 3rd lifting chain.

Continue as per the diagram, making 4 decreases (2 on each side) in every second row; work a total of 20 rows from the cast-on edge. Work the last 2 rows, making 4 decreases in each, and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing the pieces together. Make a similar piece for the second slipper. Sew to form a tube.

Tongue:

Row 1: Attach the melange yarn to the right stitch of the chain of 28 made in row 11 of the previous piece, chain 3 for lifting, 1 decrease, 1 double crochet in each of the next 22 double crochets, 1 decrease, 1 double crochet in the last chain stitch of the row; turn the work;

Rows 2 and following: Chain 3 for lifting, 1 decrease, 1 double crochet in each of the following stitches up to the last 3, 1 decrease and another double crochet in the 3rd lifting chain of the previous row. Repeat this for another 4 rows, making 1 decrease on each side, and finish the work. Make a tongue for the second slipper in the same way.

Right slipper cuff: With purple yarn, chain 12, 1 single crochet in the double crochet on the left edge of the heel, 1 single crochet in each double crochet of the heel edge, and chain 12 more.

Row 1: Chain 3 for lifting, insert the hook into the 5th chain from the hook, 1 decrease (work 2 stitches together as 1 double crochet over the next 2 stitches), 1 double crochet in each of the next stitches (chains and single crochets) up to the last 2 chains, 1 fan (2 double crochets in the next stitch), 1 double crochet in the last chain, turn the work.

Row 2: Chain 3 for lifting, 1 fan, 1 double crochet in each double crochet up to the last 3 double crochets, 1 decrease, 1 double crochet in the 3rd lifting chain of the previous row.

Row 3: Chain 3 for lifting, 1 decrease, 1 double crochet in each double crochet from the previous row up to the last 2 stitches, 1 fan, and 1 double crochet in the 3rd lifting chain of the previous row.

Rows 4 and 5: Work as for Rows 2 and 3. At the end of Row 5, chain 12 and turn the work.

Row 6: Chain 3 for lifting, insert the hook into the 5th chain from the hook, make 1 fan, 1 double crochet in each stitch (both chains and double crochets) of the base row, 1 decrease over the last 2 double crochets, 1 double crochet in the 3rd lifting chain of the previous row.

Row 7 (with a buttonhole): Chain 3 for lifting, make 1 decrease, 1 double crochet in each double crochet of the base row up to the last 5 double crochets, chain 1, skip 1 double crochet, and make 1 double crochet in each of the last 4 stitches.

Row 8: Chain 3 for lifting, make 1 decrease, 1 double crochet in each double crochet up to the last 3 stitches, 1 decrease, and 1 double crochet in the 3rd lifting chain of the previous row; finish the work.

Left slipper cuff: With purple yarn, chain 12, make 1 single crochet in the double crochet on the left edge of the heel of the left slipper, 1 single crochet in each double crochet of the heel's edge row, and chain 12 more. Then work symmetrically to the right slipper cuff following the pattern, finishing the work after Row 8.

Button: Chain 4 and join into a ring with a slip stitch. Work 7 single crochets into the ring, then work 2 more rounds of single crochets, working into the center of the ring and covering the previous stitches with subsequent stitches; after working 3 or more rounds, such that the center of the ring is fully covered, make 2 slip stitches to finish the work. Make another button and sew the buttons to the center of the cuffs opposite the buttonholes.

Assembly: On the wrong side, using the long tail of yarn, sew the tip of the slipper, joining the stitches of the sole to the stitches of the upper part. Repeat for the second slipper.
