Round 2: Sc in the same st as joining, trd in the same st (sc in the next trc,

trc in the same st) around, join with a sl st to the first sc; ch 1, turn. (36

sts)

Round 3: Sc in the same st as joining, (ch 3, skip next trc, sc in the next

sc) around, ch 3, join with a sl st to the first sc. (18 ch-3 spaces)

Round 4: Sl st into the first ch 3 sp, ch 3 to count as the first dc, work 2

more dc in the same sp, (3 dc in the next ch 3 sp) around; join with a sl st

to the top of the beginning ch 3; ch 1, turn. (54 dc)

Round 5: Sc in the same st as joining, trc in the next dc, (sc in the next dc,

trc in the next dc) around, join with a sl st to the first sc; ch 1, turn. (54

sts)

Round 6: Repeat round 3. (27 ch-3 spaces)

Round 7: Sl st into the first ch 3 sp, ch 3 to count as the first dc, work 2

more dc in the same sp, (3 dc in the next ch 3 sp) around; join with a sl st

to the top of the beginning ch 3. (81 dc)

Round 8: Ch 3 to count as the first dc, dc in the same sp as joining, dc in

each remaining dc around, join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3;

Round 9: Repeat round 5. (82 sts)

Pattern note: To work decrease (dec) over 3 stitches - insert hook in the

next dc and pull up a loop, insert hook in next sc and pull up a loop, insert

hook in next dc and pull up a loop, yo and pull through all 4 remaining

loops on hook.

Round 38: Insert hook in same st as joining and pull up a loop, insert hook

in next sc and pull up a loop, insert hook in next trc and pull up a loop, yo

and pull through all 4 remaining loops on hook, (sc, trc) in the next trc, (sc,

Repeat from * to * around; join with a sl st to the first st. Fasten off. Weave

in ends.
