Scallop Shell Pattern:
Work chain multiple of 7 plus 5
Row 1: dc in the 5th ch from hook, *ch 2, skip next 6 ch, (dc, ch 3, dc) in next ch*, repeat from * to * to the last 7 ch, ch 2, skip next 6 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in the last ch, turn.
Row 2: ch 3 (counts as dc), 4 dc in next ch-1 space, skip next ch-2 space, *(4 dc, ch 1, 4 dc) in next ch-3 loop, skip next ch-2 space*, repeat from * to * to the last ch-1 space, 4 dc in ch-1 space of turning ch, dc in 3rd ch of turning ch, turn.

Crochet Scallop Shell Vest

Directions:
Vest is worked as one piece without seams top down. You start from the top of the back, work to the armholes, then the left and right of the front are worked from the top of the back to the armholes. From the armholes the vest is worked as one piece down to the desired length.

Start from the left shoulder.
Chain 33 (33, 40, 40, 47). Work rows 1-2 of the pattern. At the end of the row work ch 28. Set aside.

Right Shoulder

Join the end of the ch 28 to the beginning of the 2nd row of the right shoulder with slip st. Continue to work back with 12 (12, 14, 14, 16) pattern repeats. Left front

Right Front

Finishing
Work arm bands and neckline band with the button bands as follows:
Row 1: all dc
Row 2: (dc, ch 1) repeat to the end of the row.
Row 3: all dc.
Sew on 2 buttons.
