Crochet Falling Pumpkins Wall Hanging

Create a stunning autumn-inspired wall hanging with this unique crochet pattern for falling pumpkins. This eye-catching piece will add a touch of warmth and charm to any room in your home. Supplies Needed:

Size: 15 ½” Long, Hook: H, Yarn: Red Heart WW in Orange: 1.2oz & Green: .1oz
Optional: Felt or other facial features

Abbreviations & Stitches Used
Ch=Chain Slst=Slip Stitch Sc=Single Crochet
W/=With Dc=Double Crochet St(s)=Stitch(es)
Hdc=Half double crochet

Notes: Join: Join W/slst in beg st, unless otherwise stated.

Small Pumpkin: (Back)

Rnd 1: W/Orange, Ch4, work 9dc in 4th ch from hook, join. (10dc)


Rnd 2: Ch3, dc in same st, 2dc in each st around, join. Fasten off, weave in ends. (20dc)


Front:

Work the same as back, but DO NOT fasten off at end of rnd 2.

Place wrong sides of both pieces together, with right side of front circle facing you, work through both pieces.


Rnd 3: Slst in joining sts, Ch3, dc in same st, 2dc in next 4sts, dc in 2sts, slst in next st, dc in 2sts, 2dc in 5sts, hdc in next st, sc in 3sts, hdc in last st, join, fasten off, weave in ends. (24dc, 2hdc, 3sc)


Stem: Will be worked behind slst at top, Do not work in the actual slst.

Row 1: Join green in st behind slst, ch3, 2dc in same st, ch1, turn. (3dc)

Row 2: Sc in same st and next 2sts, ch1, turn. (3sc)

Row 3: Ch1, turn, slst in same st and in next st, Ch12, slst in same st as on stem. Slst in last st, Fasten off.


Medium Pumpkin: (Back)


Rnd 1: Ch4, work 11dc in 4th ch from hook, join. (12dc)


Rnd 2: Ch3, dc in same st, 2dc in each st around, join. (24dc)


Rnd 3: Ch3, dc in same st. [Dc in 3sts, 2dc in next st] Repeat around, ending w/dc in last 3sts, join. Fasten off, weave in ends. (30dc)


Front:

Work the same as back, but DO NOT fasten off at end of rnd 3.


Place wrong sides of both pieces together, with right side of front circle facing you, work through both pieces.


Rnd 4: Slst in joining sts, ch3, dc in same st, 2dc in next 5sts, dc in 2sts, slst in 2sts, dc in 2sts, 2dc in 9sts, hdc in next st, sc in 4sts, hdc in next st. 2dc in last 3sts, join, fasten off and weave in ends. (40dc, 2hdc, 4sc)


Stem: Will be worked behind slsts at top, Do not work in the actual slsts.

Row 1: W/green, join in st behind first slst, ch3, dc in same st, 2dc in next st, ch1, turn.

Row 2: Sc in same st, sc in next 3sts, ch1, turn.

Row 3: Repeat same as row2, slst in last st as sc, fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.


Large Pumpkin: (Back)

Rnds 1-2: Repeat same as medium pumpkin.


Rnd 3: Ch3, dc in same st, 2dc in each st around, join, fasten off, weave in ends. (48dc)


Front:

Work the same as back, but DO NOT fasten off at end of rnd 3.


Place wrong sides of both pieces together, with right side of front circle facing you, work through both pieces.


Rnd 4: Slst in joining sts, ch3, dc in same st, (dc in next st, 2dc in next)5x. Dc in 3sts, slst in next 3sts, dc in 3sts, (2dc in next st, dc in next st)7x. 2dc in next st, hdc in 3sts, sc in 3sts, hdc in 3sts, (2dc in next st, dc in next st)2x, join, fasten off, weave in ends. (52dc, 6hdc, 3sc, 3slst)


Stem:Will be worked behind slsts at top, Do not work in the actual slsts.

Row 1: W/green, join in st behind first slst, ch3, dc in same st, dc in next st, 2dc in last st, ch1, turn. (5dc)

Rows 2-3: Sc in same st, sc in next 4sts, ch1, turn. Fasten off at end of row 3. Leaving a tail for sewing.


Putting Pumpkins together: Medium pumpkin gets sewn to the small pumpkin, large pumpkin is sewn to medium pumpkin. Take the last row of stems and sew to the back of the bottom of the corresponding pumpkins.


If you are making this for Halloween, you can add facial features to your pumpkin or leaves for a Fall decoration.


Leaves: (I used a smaller hook for my leaves, this option is up to you.)

Rnd 1: Ch2, 12sc in 2nd ch from hook, join in first sc. (12sc)

Rnd 2: Ch3, trc in same st, (trc, dc) in next st, 2hdc in next st, 2sc in next 2sts, 2hdc in next st, 2dc in next st, ch4, slst in 1st st of ch4, 2dc in next st, 2hdc in next st, 2sc in next 2sts, 2hdc in next st, join. Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew onto pumpkin, weave in ends.
