​Knit Beige Pullover with Cable

You’ll need:

550 (600) 650 g of light-beige yarn (55% merino wool, 35% polyacryl, 10% cashmere; 100m/50g);

Straight and circle knitting needles 5.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS rows – purls;

Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS rows – knit sts;

Garter stitch: all knit sts;

Rib A: the quantity of sts is multiple 3 + 2. * 2 sts of stockinette stitch, 1 st of garter stitch*; repeat from * to *, finish with 2 sts of stockinette stitch;

Rib B: 2 purls, 3 knit sts by turn;

Cable (38 sts wide): due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the ornament. Repeat 1^st-68^th rows.

Stitches control: rib: 18,5 sts x 25,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Cable: 13 cm wide.

Instructions

Back/Front

Cast on 98 (104) 110 sts and work in the following way: 1 selvage st, 32 (35) 38 sts of rib A, * 2 sts of wrong-side pattern, 3 sts of stockinette stitch*; repeat from * to * x 5 times, 2 sts of wrong-side pattern, 32 (35) 38 sts of rib A, 1 selvage st. In 5,5 cm = 14 rows from the set-up row, increase 1 st on the central 6 areas of stockinette stitch = 104 (110) 116 sts and start making cable on the central 38 sts. In 39 cm = 100 rows (37,5 cm = 96 rows) 36 cm = 92 rows from the set-up row, bind off 5 sts from both sides for arm-holes and 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 86 (92) 98 sts. In 56, 5 cm = 144 rows from the set-up row, bind off 4 (7) 6 sts from both sides for shoulder chamfers and 4 x 5 (5) 6 sts in every 2^nd row. At the same time with the 1^st decrease, leave the central 16 sts for the neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, leave 1 x 6 sts, 1 x 4 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from inwards. In 59,5 cm = 152 rows from the set-up row, bind off all the sts.

Sleeves

Cast on 57 (63) 69 sts and work with rib A between selvage sts, start and finish with 1 st of garter stitch. In 40 cm = 102 rows from the set-up row, bind off 3 sts from both sides and 1 x 2 sts, 14 x 1 st, 2 x 2 sts, 1 x 3 sts in every 2^nd row. In 55 cm = 140 rows from the set-up row, bind off the rest 5 (11) 17 sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams; for collar, transfer the previously left sts to the circle knitting needles and cast on 4 sts at the height of shoulder = 84 sts. Work with rib B, decrease 1 st in the 1^st circle row of both areas of stockinette stitch of front and back centers of collar = 80 sts. At 20 cm collar height, bind off the sts. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
