Knit Sweater with Zigzags Pattern

You’ll need:

900 (1000)g of yellow-pink yarn (70% polyacryl, 30% sheep wool; 55m/50g);

Straight and circle knitting needles 7.

Size: S (L).

Used Patterns

Zigzags pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 12 + 9 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the ornament, yarn overs – as cross purls. Start with 1 selvage st and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat 1^st-8^th rows x once, then, repeat 9^th-16^th rows.

Stitches control: 15 sts x 15,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 83 (95) sts and work with zigzags pattern. In 40 cm = 62 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 4 sts from both sides for arm-holes = 75 (78) sts. In 68 cm = 106 rows from the set-up row, bind off 2 x 8 (10) sts in every 2^nd row from both sides for shoulder chamfers. At the same time with the 1^st decrease for shoulder, bind off the central 23 sts for the neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 2 sts in the next 2^nd row from inwards. In 71 cm = 110 rows from the set-up row, bind off the rest 8 (10) sts of shoulder from both sides.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole. For this, in 62 cm = 96 rows from the set-up row, bind off the central 11 sts and 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 3 x 1st in every 2^nd row.

Sleeves

Cast on 39 sts and work with zigzags pattern, start with 1 selvage st, repeat the pattern x 3 times, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repat 1^st-8^th rows x once, then, repeat 9^th-16^th rows. At the same time, increase 22 x 1 st in every 2^nd and 4^th rows by turn for sleeve caps from both sides = 83 sts, include the increased sts in the pattern. In 48 cm = 74 rows from the set-up row, bind off all the sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams; for the collar, cast on 84 sts with circle knitting needles and work with zigzags pattern, repeat the pattern in even circle rows due to the ornament, in the stated places – purls or cross purls. In 5 cm, turn your work and continue from the WS. At 23 cm height of the collar, bind off all the sts. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
