​Verbena Knit Mittens

You’ll need:

100g of 100% wool (105m/50g);

Double-pointed needles 2,5 and 3,5.

Length: 19 cm.

Knit2tog with right decline: catch the 2^nd st with right-hand needle, then catch the 1^st st with left-hand needle, knit them together through upper loops;

Knit2tog with left decline: slip 1 st, 1 knit st, throw the slipped st on the knit st;

Double decrease: insert right-hand needle in the 2^nd st, then left-hand needle in the 1^st st, slip them without knitting, 1 knit st, throw 2 slipped sts on the knit st.

Stitches control: on stockinette stitch: 22 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Knit around with double-pointed needles.

Cast on 58 sts with knitting needles and divide them on 4 knitting needles. Make 1 row with knit sts. Continue: 1 purl, * 1 knit st, 3 purls*; repeat from * to * above the next 20 sts, 16 sts – due to the scheme 1, * 3 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to * above the next 20 sts, 1 purl. Continue work on 3 cm.

Next row: 1 purl, * 1 knit sts, purl2tog, 1 purl*; repeat from * to * above the next 20 sts, 16 sts due to the scheme 2 (1 st is decreased), * 1 purl, purl2tog, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to * above the next 20 sts, 1 purl. Totally, 47 sts.

Then, work with knitting needles 3,5.

Next row: 1 purl, * 1 knit st, 2 purls*; repeat from * to * above the next 15 sts, 15 sts – due to the scheme 3, * 2 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to * above the next 15 sts, 1 purl.

Make the pattern of the scheme 3 twice in height (16 cm) and then work with knitting needles 2,5. Make increase: at the place of 2 purls, ass 1 st = 3 purls. Work due to the scheme 4 instead of the scheme 3. There are 59 sts in work.

Continue to 19 cm height, knit sts above knit sts, purls above purls. Bind off the sts due to the pattern.

Make the second detail in the same way.
