You'll need:

Baby yarn (100% acryl, 200m/50g), blue color— 55g, white color – 25g, pompom 10сm – 20g;

Double pointed needles 3,5 mm;

Circle needles 4;

Ruler;

Needle;

Scissors.

Instructions

For rib:

in 1сm – 1,5 st.

57х1,5=85,5, round to 88.

For ornament:

in 1сm – 1,9 sts.

57х1,9=108,3.

Pattern repeat is 6 sts. 108/6=18.

Make a rib.

Cast on 88 sts in Italian manner with knitting needles 3,5 mm.

Make 7 cm of 1 x 1 rib.

Knickline is made in 2 rows of knit sts.

Make 6 cm of rib,

Then make 2 distributing rows: * 1 purl, 4 knit sts, 1 purl*.

In the 1st row add 20 sts, so there should be 108 sts on knitting needles.

Make the main part.

Then, turn to knitting needles 4 mm and make the next row due to the ornament.

1st row: * 1 purl, 2 sts cross right: slip 1 st and leave behind work, 1 knit st, slipped st as knit st, 2 sts cross left: slip 1 st and leave in front of work, 1 knit st, slipped st as purl*;

2nd row: * 1 purl, 4 knit sts, 1 purl*;

3rd row: * 1 purl, 2 sts cross right: slip 1 st and leave behind work, 1 knit st, slipped st as knit st, 2 sts cross left: slip 1 st and leave in front of work, 1 knit st, slipped st as purl*;

4th row: * 1 purl, 4 knit sts, 1 purl*.

Repeat from 1st to 4th rows.

The height of crown is 18,5 cm.

When to add gradient?

Make 3 pattern repeats with blue yarn in 2 threads, then cut one thread and attach white yarn and make 3 pattern repeats.

Cut the blue yarn. Then, after attaching the second white yarn, make 2 pattern repeats, but don't finish the last row, as decreases will start from this row.

Make a crown.

1st row: * 4 knit sts, 8 purls*;

2nd row: * 2 sts cross right: slip 1 st and leave behind work, 1 knit st, slipped st as knit st, 2 sts cross left: slip 1 st and leave in front of work, 1 knit st, slipped st as knit st, purl2tog, 4 purls, purl2tog* (90 sts);

3rd row: due to the ornament;

4th row: * 2 sts cross left: slip 1 st and leave in front of work, 1 knit st, slipped st as knit st, 2 sts cross right: slip 1 st and leave behind work, 1 knit st, slipped st as knit st, purl2tog, 2 purls, purl2tog* (72 sts);

5th row: due to the ornament;

6th row: * 2 sts cross right: slip 1 st and leave behind work, 1 knit st, slipped st as knit st, 2 sts cross left: slip 1 st and leave in front of work, 1 knit st, slipped st as knit st, (purl2tog) twice* (54 sts);

7th row: due to the ornament;

8th row: * knit2tog with left decline, knit2tog with right decline, 2 purls* (36 sts);

9th row: * 2 knit sts, purl2tog* (27 sts);

10th row: * knit2tog, 1 purl* (18 sts).

Cut the working yarn, leave the "tail" of the needed length, insert in the needle and collect the rest sts. Tighten - fasten.

Decorate the hat with a pompom.
