Who taught you knitting/crochetting?

I have been knitting since I was 7 years old. Both my Mom and Grandmother taught me to knit. I was a sickly child, and knitting kept me busy while in the hospital, or confined to my bed. I have now been knitting for over 60 years.

Je tricote et crochette depuis l age de 6 ans j ai commencé avec des pointes de 140 papa etait maçon et je lui prenait des clous maman ne voulait pas me donner des aiguilles alors je me suis débrouillé.
Une voisine m a enseigné le tricot et crochet maman avait pas le temps nous etions 5 enfants et maman travailler à domicile.

My grandmother taught me how to knit and crochet. She was right-handed and I'm left-handed… she taught me how to crochet left-handed, but she couldn't figure out how to teach me to knit left-handed, so to this day I knit right-handed. These days I'm a quilt maker. When I need something real portable, I bring crochet. I just love making doilies. I have more than I need, so I give them away. At quilting retreats, I put them up on the wall with a «Free to a Good Home» sign and they walk off.

I learned to knit at school when l was 5. However it was the practice at home with my mother that really helped.
I taught myself how to crochet when l was about 8. However l crochet like a knitter :)

bonjour,pour moi le crochet c'est ma grand mère qui m'a appris les bases,le tricotage ma mère pour les bases aussi ,ensuite les livres en suivant les diagrammes ou explications,maintenant si je trouve pas je vais sur le net ,mais bon j 'ai 58 ans et mon premier pull (tube) ...j'avais 9 ans…
