​Relief Crochet Vest

You’ll need:

7 (8) 9 skeins of dark-grey 100% alpaca wool yarn (127m/50g);

Crochet hooks 3,5 and 4.

Size: S/M (M/L) L/XL;

Chest circumference: 96 (112) 128 см + lace fastening;

Length: approx. 40 (42) 44 cm.

Stitches control: 2,5 pattern repeats wide x 2 pattern repeats high = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Make 1 st with crochet hook 4 and make 121 (141) 161 chain sts. Turn and work with the main pattern due to the scheme (1st row = WS). When the length of detail is 18 cm, make marks for arm-holes. When the length of detail from mark is about 20 (22) 24 cm, finish with the 5th and 7th row and leave 2 pattern repeats open for fastening.

Right Front

Continue work with pattern and make one mark for arm-hole in 20 (22) 24 cm. After making 18 cm from mark, finish with the 5th and 7th row.

Left Front

Make in symmetry to right front.

Fastening

Fasten the edges of work due to the scheme with crochet hook 3,5 – the quantity of sts is multiple 12 + 9. Make along the edges of arm-holes, edge of right front, back neck-hole and edge of left front. Note: before you begin to make lace fastening, fasten the edges with single crochets = 8 single crochet for every pattern repeat, make 5 single crochets around every chain and make 1 single crochet in every picot. Then, make 1 row of double crochets = 1 double crochet in every single crochet. Continue making fastening due to the scheme.

Assembly

Make side seams. Fasten the lower edge with “fans” pattern of 11 double crochets and 1 chain st between fans with crochet hook 3,5. Start with 1 single crochet and make the 1st fan at lower corner of front, then, make fans along the lower edge.
