​Crochet Vest of Relief Squares

You’ll need:

350 (400)g of ecru yarn (50% cotton, 50% polyacryl; 125m/50g);

200 (250)g of the same yarn, but in white color;

Crochet hook 3-3,5;

1 button.

Size: M (L).

Used Patterns

Main pattern: due to the scheme, start with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish due to the pattern. Start every row with chain sts increase, the quantity of which is stated on the scheme. Repeat 1^st-7^th rows x once, then, repeat 2^nd-7^th rows, make 4^th-7^th rows x once with ecru yarn and 5^th-7^th rows with white yarn.

Relief square: make 5 chain sts with white yarn and circle them with 1 slip st in circle row. Replace the 1^st single or double crochet of every circle row to 1 or 3chain sts and finish with 1 slip st in the last chain st increase.

1^st circle row, white yarn: * 1 double crochet, 1 chain st* in the ring; repeat from * to * x 7 times;

2^nd circle row, white yarn: 1 slip st in the arch, * 1 single crochet in the arch, 3 chain sts*; repeat from * to *;

3^rd circle row, white yarn: 1 slip st in the arch, 1 single crochets + 1 half crochet + 3 double crochets + 1 half crochet + 1 single crochet in every arch. Finish circle row and cut the yarn;

4^th circle row, ecru yarn: join the yarn to the central double crochet of the 1^st arch, 3 double crochets, * 3 chain sts, 1 single crochet in the central of the next 3 double crochets, 3 chain sts, 5 double crochets in the central of the next 3 double crochets*; repeat from * to *, finish with 3 chain sts, 1 single crochet in the central of the next 3 double crochets, 3 chain sts, 2 double crochets to the initial 3 double crochets;

5^th circle row: 1 double crochet + 1 chain st + 1 double crochet in the central double crochet of the 5^th group, 1 double crochet in all the rest double and single crochets, 1 double crochet in every arch of 4 double crochets.

Flower: make 5 chain sts with ecru yarn and circle them with 1 slip st. * 1 single crochet, 1 half crochet, 3 double crochet, 1 half crochet, 1 single crochet* in the ring; repeat from * to * x 3 times, finish with 1 slip st in chain st increase.

Stitches control: main pattern: 21,5 sts x 8 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Make 197 (221) chain sts + 3 chain sts increase and work with the main pattern. In 45 cm from the set-up row, divide your work and finish both sides separately in the following way: the first or last 38 (44) sts = right or left front, the central 121 (133) sts = back. Finish all the details at 70 cm height.

Assembly

Make 12 relief squares and flowers. Sew flowers in the middle of squares. Sew 6 squares between one another and sew them as placket to the front. Bind off shoulder seams. Fasten the edges of front and neck-hole with 1 row and edges of arm-holes with 2 circle rows of single crochets. Make 6 chain sts for button-hole on the right front. Sew button to the left front.
