​Bright and Colorful Dress

You’ll need:

65g of blue yarn (35% silk, 35% prima cotton, 15% linen, 10% viscose, 5% metallized polyester; 115m/50g);

65g of the same yarn, but in purple color;

65g of the same yarn, but in yellow color;

65g of the same yarn, but in pink color;

90g of mélange purple yarn (70% prima cotton, 30% white pine viscose; 65m/50g);

Knitting needles 5;

Crochet hook 3,5.

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Main pattern: 1st-5th rows: stockinette stitch;

6th and 14th rows: 1 knit st, slip 1 knit st, yarn behind work;

7th and 15th rows: knit;

8th and 16th rows: slip 1 knit st, yarn beghind work, 1 knit st;

9th row: knit;

10th row: purl;

11th row: 1 yarn over, knit2tog, 1 knit st;

12th row: purl;

13th row: knit.

Colors order: * 5 purple rows, 3 melange rows, 5 yellow rows, 3 melange rows, 5 blue rows, 3 melange rows, 5 pink rows, 3 melange rows*; repeat from * to *.

Stitches control: 16 sts x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Skirt

Cast on 130 sts with mélange yarn and work with the main pattern due to the colors order. For widenings, increase 10 x 9 sts in every 8th row = 220 sts. In 35 cm from the set-up row, bind off all sts.

Top

Cast on 22 sts and work with the main pattern due to the stripes order, increase 3 x 1 st in every 4th row. In 6 cm from the set-up row, increase 19 sts for arm-holes = 44 sts. In 10 cm from the set-up row, bind off 20 sts from the right side = 24 sts. In 19 cm from the set-up row, make the second half of top in symmetry. In 76 cm from the set-up row, leave all sts. Circle top in the ring and connect with kitchener’s stitch.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams of top and back seam of skirt. Cast on 102 sts along the lower edge of top, 150 sts along neck-hole and 54 sts along each arm-hole, make 6th-8th rows of the main pattern and bind off sts. Make 32 chain sts = 18 cm between top and skirt. Then, work in the following way: 4 chain sts, 2 double crochets, 8 chain sts, 4 double crochets, 8 chain sts, 3 double crochets, 8 chain sts, 4 double crochets, 8 chain sts, 2 double crochets, 4 chain sts. Then, work in chess-board order.
