​Lilac Knit Vest

You’ll need:

500g of lilac Polaris yarn (70% merino wool, 30% acryl; 100m/50g);

Knitting needles 4,5 and 5;

Auxiliary needle;

Zipper 35 cm long.

Size: M.

Used Patterns

Double rib: cast on the half of the needed quantity of sts with contrast yarn.

1^st row: with working yarn * 1 knit st, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to *;

2^nd row: * yarn over as knit st, slip 1 purl without knitting, yarn in front of work*; repeat from * to *;

3^rd and the following rows: * 1 knit st, slip 1 purl, yarn in front of work*; repeat from * to *, take off the contrast yarn in the ready-made detail.

2 x 2 rib.

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts.

Stripes order: * 3 rows of stockinette stitch, 3 rows of wrong-side pattern*.

Cable: 8 sts wide.

1^st, 3^rd, 5^th and 9^th rows: 1 purl, 2 knit sts, 2 purls, 2 knit sts, 1 purl;

2^nd and all even rows: as sts face;

7^th row: 1 purl, cross 6 sts to the right (leave 2 knit sts on the 1^st auxiliary needle behind work, leave 2 purls on the 2^nd auxiliary needle behind work, 2 knit sts, purls from the 2^nd auxiliary needle, knit sts from the 1^st auxiliary needle), 1 purl.

Repeat 1^st-10^th rows.

Special cable: 14 sts wide. Work due to the scheme. Repeat 1^st-10^th rows.

Stitches control: 20 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 86 sts with knitting needles 4,5 and make 4 rows with double rib and 6 rows with 2 x 2 rib. Change to knitting needles 5 and work due to the stripes order, in 68 cm bind off all sts.

Right Front

Cast on 52 sts with knitting needles 4,5 and make 4 rows of double rib and 6 rows with 2 x 2 rib. Change to knitting needles 5 and work in the following way: 3 sts of double rib, 1 purl, 8 sts of cable, 14 sts of special cable, 8 sts of cable, 18 sts of stripes order. In 62 cm, bind off 1 x 16 sts from the right side for neck-hole and decrease 8 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from the right side. In 68 cm, bind off all the rest sts.

Left Front

Make in symmetry to the right front.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. For collar, cast on 83 sts along neck-hole with knitting needles 5 and make 20 rows with stripes order and bind off all sts. For placket arm-holes, cast on 26 sts along each arm-hole with knitting needles 4,5 (13 sts of back and 13 sts of front) and work with 2 x 2 rib, bind off 3 x 6 sts in every 2^nd row from both sides = 62 sts, make 2 rows of double rib and bind off all sts with kitchener’s stitch. Make side seams, sew zipper.
