​Country Style Crochet Cardigan

You’ll need:

300g of mélange brown (color 1) Yarnan Gold (70% mohair, 30% acryl; 500m/100g);

300g of the same yarn, but in mélange brick-red-white-brown (color 2);

300g of natural white Camel wool (65% wool, 35% polyacryl; 600m/100g);

Crochet hooks 5, 7 and 8;

6 buttons.

Size: L-XL.

Note: work in 3 threads of yarn:

1^st combination: 2 threads of mélange yarn 1 + 1 thread of camel wool;

2^nd combination: 2 threads of mélange yarn 2 + 1 thread of camel wool.

Stripes order: * 2 rows of 1^st combination, 2 rows of 2^nd combination*.

At first, make upper part of cardigan, then lower part.

Back

Make 70 chain sts with crochet hook 7 and 5 rows of single crochets. Then, bind off 5 sts from each side for arm-hole and make 28 rows, alternate stripes, as it’s previously describes. After that, start making shoulder chamfers, make 25 crochets, leave the central 10 sts open for neck-hole, turn, make 8 rows to up, don’t finish 1 st from neck-hole side. Make second shoulder in symmetry.

Front

Make 35 chain sts with crochet hook 7 and 5 rows with stripes order, then, bind off 5 sts from one side for arm-hole, then, crochet 25 rows to up, bind off 5 sts from the opposite side for neck-hole and make 8 rows to up, don’t finish 1 st from neck-hole side. Make second half of front in symmetry.
Sew front and back at the shoulder and make sleeves.

Sleeves

Make 60 chain sts with crochet hook 7 and make sleeve from up to down, bind off 1 st from both sides in every 5^th row until there are 35 sts left. Sew back and front along sleeve seams. Then, crochet the rest part of cardigan as one-piece cloth from up to down with crochet hook 8. The length of work is up to you.

Assembly

For cuff, make sts along sleeve with crochet hook 5 and 5 rows of single crochets, then, turn to crochet hook 7 and make 5 more rows. Fasten cuff with “shrimp stitch” with one color yarn. Make plackets of 8 rows wide with crochet hook 7 along the edges of front. Make 5 button-loops on right front. For collar, make sts along neck-hole and 4 rows with crochet hook 5, then, 12 rows with crochet hook 7, increase 1 st from both sides for widening. Make button-loop on color. Fasten the whole work with “shrimp stitch” with white yarn. Sew buttons.
