Crochet Set of Shawl, Mittens and Hat
You’ll need:
450g of violet Novena yarn (50% merino wool, 30% alpaca wool, 20% polyamide; 110m/25g);
Crochet hook 2 and 3.
Size of shawl: 50 x 166 cm.
Used Patterns
Weavers pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 20 + 1 + 3 chain sts increase and work due to the scheme. Start with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat. Make 1st-13th rows x once, then, repeat 2nd-13th rows.
Stitches control, crochet hook 3: 24 sts x 11,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Shawl
Make 121 chain sts + 3 chain sts with crochet hook 3 and work with weavers pattern. In 83 cm from the set-up row, finish with the 11th row of the pattern. Fasten the set-up row with weaver pattern, initial chain of the 1st part replaces the set-up row. In 83 cm, finish your work with the 11th row of the pattern. Fasten the long edges with 1 row of “shrimp stitch”.
Mittens
Right Mitten
Make 61 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with crochet hook 3 and work with weavers pattern. In 11,5 cm from the set-up row, leave 2 central groups of double crochets of the 1st weaver + ½ weaver from both sides, for this, replace 2 single crochets above the central 2 groups of double crochets with 1 chain st in the next row. Then, work due to the scheme. In 20 cm = 23 rows from the set-up row, finish your work. Fasten the set-up row with 5 rows of weavers pattern.
Left Mitten
Make in symmetry to right mitten.
Assembly
Sew the long sides, leaving bottom 4,5 cm open for cuts. Fasten the edges of cuts, bottom and upper edges and hole for thumb with 1 row of “shrimp stitch”.
Hat
Make 141 chain sts + 1 chain st increase and work with single crochets, insert crochet hook through back loops of chain. In 4 cm from the set-up row, work with weaver pattern. In 22 cm from the set-up row, turn to smaller hook and work with double crochets in 6 rows. Make 2 double crochets together in every row. When your hat is practically bound off, tighten the rest sts with working yarn and fasten it. Sew long sides.
