You’ll need:

Plymouth Encore Yarn – 1 skein each (Color A) Light grey heather, (Color B) Rubellite:

Yarn yardage: Color A – 190 yds, Color B – 20 yds;

Crochet hooks 5 and 8 mm;

Scissors;

Tapestry needle.

Size: Length – 9.5” Width (at tongue) – 4”

Stitches control: 6 sts x 8 rows = 2”.

Note: you will sew together 2 soles for each slipper for added comfort

Instructions

Slipper Soles

Make 4.

With Color A, ch 23.

Round 1: 3 dc into the 4th ch from the hook (3 skipped chs count as first dc). Dc into the next 18 sts; 7 dc into the last ch. You will now be working down the other side of the chain. Dc into the next 18 sts, dc 3 times into the same space where you worked the first 3 dc. Sl st into the top of the first dc. – 50 sts

Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), dc into the same st. 2 dc into each of the next 2 sts, then hdc into the following 6 sts. Sc into the next 13 sts, then 2 hdc into each of the next 6 sts. Sc into the next 13 sts, then hdc into the next 6 sts. 2 dc into each of the last 3 sts. Sl st into the top of the first dc. – 62 sts

Round 3: Ch 3, dc into the same st. [1 dc into the next st, 2 dc into the next st] 2 times. Hdc into the next 7 sts, sc into the next 14 sts. 2 sc into the next st. [1 sc into the next st, 2 sc into the next st] 3 times. Sc into the next 16 sts, then hdc into the next 7 sts. [2 dc into the next st, 1 dc into the next st] 3 times. Sl st into the top of the first dc. Cut yarn and tie off. – 72 sts

Round 4: Place 2 of the soles together right sides facing out. Find the center at the top of the sole and count 12 sts to the right. Attach yarn into the 12th st, and sc together, continuing down the right side. Sl st into beginning sc.

Round 5: Ch 1, sc into each st around. Sl st into beginning sc.

Round 6: Ch 1, sc into the same st and into the next 15 sts, hdc into the next 4 sts. Dc2tog twice, dc into each of the next 4 sts. Dc2tog twice, hdc into the next 4 sts; sc into the next 16 sts. Hdc into the next 4 sts, dc2tog 6 times; hdc into the last 4 sts. Sl st into the first sc. – 62 sts

Round 7: Ch 1, sc into the same st and into the next st. Hdc2tog 7 times, dc into the next 14 sts. Hdc2tog 7 times, sc into the next 2 sts. Sl st into the next 16 sts, sl st into beginning sc. – 48 sts

Round 8: Sc into the next 31 sts, sl st into the next st. Cut yarn and tie off.

Tongue

Make 2.

Ch 3 counts as a dc

Ch 5, sl st into beginning ch to form a ring.

Row 1: Ch 3, dc 6 times into the center of the circle, turn – 7 sts

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in first st. 2 dc into each st, turn – 14 sts

Row 3: Ch 3, dc into first st, 1 dc into next st. *2 dc into next st, 1 dc into next st; repeat from * to end, turn. – 21 sts

Ch 1 does not count as a stitch

Row 4: Ch 1. You will now be working down the flat edge of the semi circle. Sc 12 times across. – 12 sts

Row 5-15: Ch 1, turn. Sc into each st across.

Cut yarn and tie off leaving a long tail to sew the tongue onto the top of the slipper. Pin the tongue into place at the front of the slipper and sew on using a tapestry needle.

Pom Poms

Wrap color B around 2 fingers approx 20 times. Cut a long piece of yarn and tie through the middle, trim ends. Attach 3 pom poms across the top of the tongue at approx row 7.

Tie in all ends.
