​Relief Knit Pullover

You’ll need:

300 (350) 400g of Space yarn (37% sheep wool, 36% polyacryl, 27% polyamide; 130m/50g) in grey color;

Straight and circular knitting needles 6.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Rib: the quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 2 selvage sts. RS row: 1 selvage st, * 3 knit sts, 1 purl*; repeat from * to *, 1 selvage st;

WS row: due to the pattern.

Relief pattern with cables: the quantity of sts is multiple 20 + 0 (10) 0 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme 1, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the pattern, yarn overs – as purls. Start with 1 selvage st, pattern repeat, finish with the first 0 (10) 0 sts of pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat 1^st-60^th rows.

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Relief pattern with zigzags (12 sts wide): make in the same way, as relief pattern with cables, but due to the scheme 2. Repeat 1^st-22^nd rows.

Cable (4 sts wide): 1^st and 3^rd rows: leave 2 sts on the auxiliary needle in front of work, 2 knit sts, 2 knit sts from the auxiliary needle;

2^nd and 4^th rows: stockinette stitch.

Repeat 1^st-4^th rows.

Stitches control: rib: 15 sts x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Relief pattern with cables: 15 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Relief pattern with zigzags: 12 sts x 20 rows = 9 x 10 cm;

Stockinette stitch: 12 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Cable: 4 sts = 2 cm.

Back

Cast on 62 (70) 78 sts and make 5,5 cm for the placket = 14 rows of rib, increase 0 (2) 4 sts in the last row = 62 (72) 82 sts. Then, work with relief pattern with cables. In 36 cm = 72 rows (38 cm = 76 rows) 40 cm = 80 rows from the placket, bind off 4 sts from both sides for arm-holes and 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 48 (58) 68 sts. In 53 cm = 106 rows (57 cm = 114 rows) 61 cm = 122 rows from the placket, bind off the central 22 (24) 26 sts for the neck-hole line and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row from inwards. At the same time, in 54 cm = 108 rows (58 cm = 116 rows) 62 cm = 124 rows from the placket, bind off 6 (8) 10 sts from outside for shoulder chamfers. In 55 cm = 110 rows (59 cm = 118 rows) 63 cm = 126 rows from the placket, bind off the rest 5 (7) 9 sts.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with round neck-hole. For this, in 27 cm = 54 rows (30 cm = 60 rows) 33 cm = 66 rows from the placket, bind off the central 10 sts and finish both sides separately. For neck-hole chamfer, decrease 11 (12) 13 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from inwards = 8 (12) 16 sts. In 42 cm = 84 rows (46 cm = 92 rows) 50 cm = 100 rows from the placket, increase 1 st from inwards and 2 x 1 st in every 6^th row = 11 (15) 19 sts.

Sleeves

Cast on 30 (34) 38 sts and make 5 cm = 12 rows of rib for the placket. Then, knit in the following way: 1 selvage st, 0 (2) 4 sts of stockinette stitch, 12 sts of relief pattern with zigzags, 4 sts of cable, 12 sts of relief pattern with zigzags, 0 (2) 4 sts of stockinette stitch, 1 selvage st. For sleeve chamfers, increase 6 x 1 st in every 12^th row from both sides, starting from plackets (7 x 1 st in every 10^th row) 7 x 1 st in every 10^th row = 42 (48) 52 sts. In 39 cm = 78 rows from the placket, bind off 3 sts from both sides for sleeve caps, then, 3 x 1 st in every 4^th row and 8 x 1 st, 2 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row. In 56 cm = 112 rows from the placket, bind off the rest 6 (12) 16 sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams; cast on 41 (44) 47 sts from both sides of horizontal front neck-hole and rounding, 31 (33) 35 sts along back neck-hole and work with rib on all 113 (121) 129 sts, start and finish with 3 knit sts between selvage sts.

Note: the pattern is on WS and is turndown.

In 5,5 cm = 14 rows from the beginning of collar, work with shorten rows, for this, leave 14 x 4 sts in the end of every row and turn with yarn over before these sts = 57 (65) 73 sts. Then, make 1 cm = 2 rows on all the sts, making yarn over with the next st together due to the pattern. In 12 cm = 30 rows from the beginning of collar, bind off all the sts due to the pattern. Sew short ends of collar from right to left to the edge of neck-hole. Sew up the sleeves. Make side seams.
