You’ll need:

550g of light brown Fauna yarn (70g for cuffs) (70% sheep wool, 30% alpaca wool; 60m/50g);

Circular and double pointed knitting needles 7;

Crochet hook 6;

2 auxiliary needles.

Used Patterns

Garter stitch, circle rows: 1 circle row of knit sts, 1 circle row of purls by turn;

Pattern with cables (33 sts wide): due to the scheme, on which only odd rows are stated. Make even rows due to the pattern or as stated. Make 1st-58th circle rows x once, 3rd-58th circle rows x once, finish with 1st-6th circle rows.

Stitches control: garter stitch: 9 sts x 19 rows = 9 x 10 cm;

Pattern with cables: 33 sts = 24 cm.

Instructions

Cowl

Cast on 126 sts with circular knitting needles, circle them in the ring and divide in the following way: * 9 sts of garter stitch, 33 sts of pattern with cables*; repeat from * to * x twice. Make purl2tog in the center of each area of garter stitch in the 14th row =123 sts. For better fitting, make purl2tog in the appropriate areas of garter stitch in the upper part of the 108th, 112th, 116th and 118th circle rows. Bind off the rest 108 sts in 63 cm =120 circle rows form the set-up row.

Assembly

Fasten the upper and lower edges with 1 circle row of single crochets and 1 circle row of “shrimp stitch”.

Right Cuff

Cast on 24 sts with double pointed knitting needles, circle them in the ring and place marker in the beginning of circle row and make 1 circle row in the following way: * 3 sts of garter stitch, 3 knit sts*; repeat from * to * x 3 times, make the sts of garter stitch as purls. Then, divide the sts in the following way: 3 sts of garter stitch and central 21 sts of pattern with cables. Bind off 3rd-5th sts in the 4th circle row from the set-up row for thumb hole and cast them on again in the next circle row. For widening, make 1 st due to the pattern from the transversal yarn in the 13th, 17th and 21st circle rows before 3 sts of garter stitch and in the 15th and 19th circle rows – after 3 sts of garter stitch = 8 sts of garter stitch or totally 29 sts. In 22 cm = 42 circle rows from the set-up row, bind off the sts due to the pattern.

Left Cuff

Make in the same way, as right cuff, but bind off 23rd, 24th and 1st sts for the thumb hole.
