Knit Tube Skirt
You’ll need:
300 (350) 400g of red 100% Merino yarn (125m/50g);
Circle knitting needles 4 (60 cm long);
Elastic rib 5 cm wide.
Size: S (M) L.
Used Patterns
Wrong-side pattern: circle rows: only purls;
Stockinette stitch: circle rows: only knit sts;
Relief stripe n 5 sts: work with circle rows due to the scheme, on which only odd rows are stated. Make even circle rows due to the ornament, yarn overs – as knit sts. Repeat 1st-8th rows.
Stitches control: 21 sts x 31 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Cast on 150 (168) 186 sts, circle them in the ring and make 1 cm = 2 circle rows of wrong-side pattern for the placket.
Continue work due to the following description: * 5 sts of relief stripe, 45 (51) 57 sts of stockinette stitch*; repeat from * to * x twice.
Note: the first relief stripe from the beginning of the circle row makes the center of the back cloth.
For hips widening, increase 6 sts in the circle row in 5 cm = 16 circle rows from the placket, make 1 cross knit st from transversal thread from each side of the relief stripe, continue work with stockinette stitch. Repeat these increases twice in every 6th row and 3 times in every 10th row = 186 (204) 222 sts.
For decreasing width in the bottom, decrease 6 sts in the circle row in 31,5 cm = 98 circle rows from the placket, for this, make knit2tog with left decline before every relief stripe and make knit2tog after every relief stripe. Repeat these decreases 4 times in every 20th circle row = 156 (174) 192 sts.
In 58 cm = 180 circle rows from the placket, make 1 cm = 2 circle rows with pattern 1, then, bind off all the sts as knit sts.
Assembly
Sew the ends of the elastic rib. Sew it from the wrong side lower, than placket.
