Nika Crochet Summer Cardigan




You’ll need:
17 skeins of yarn (60% cotton, 40% polyamide; 90m/50g);
Crochet hook 6.
Size: M.
Used Patterns
Granny square A: due to the scheme A;
Granny square B: due to the scheme B;
Bead: make a ring with yarn and male7 single crochets in the ring;
2nd row: 2 chain sts increase, 15 half-crochets, slip st;
3rd row: 3 chain sts increase, 1 double crochet in every 2nd st = 7 double crochets;
4th row: 2 chain sts increase, 7 single crochets, then, work due to the scheme B.
Main pattern: due to the scheme C, repeat 1st-4th rows.
Stitches control: 12 double crochets x 1 pattern repeat = 10 х 7 cm;
Granny square A: 18 х 18 cm;
Granny square: B 17 х 17 cm.
Instructions
Back and Front
Make 4 Granny squares A, connect them between one another in the process of work.
Join the yarn to the right edge of square and make 3 chain sts increase, 89 double crochets in chain sts of the square.
Turn to the main pattern. Decrease 1 st from both sides in the 3rd, 4th, 7th and 8th rows = 82 sts.
Connect the squares with front in the process of work (see the pattern design). In 36 rows, make arm-holes due to the scheme, after that, finish back and front separately.
Sleeves
Make Granny square B, after that, join the yarn to the edge of square and make 3 chain sts increase, 21 double crochets in the chain sts of the square. Make 4 rows and cut the yarn.
Fasten the square form the opposite side, don’t cut the yarn, turn to another corner and work to up.
Sleeve Cap
3 chain sts increase, 38 single crochets in the chain sts of the square.
3 rows of double crochets, after that, make cap.
1st row: 4 slip sts, 2 chain sts increase, 29 double crochets, 1 half-crochet, turn, leave 4 sts unfinished;
2nd row: 2 chain sts increase, 1 half-crochet, 27 double crochets;
3rd-9th rows: decrease 1 st from both sides (= 15 sts);
10th-11th rows: decrease 2 sts from both sides (= 9 sts).
Join the yarn to the corner of the fastened square and make bottom part: 3 chain sts, 33 double crochets;
2nd row: 32 double crochets (decrease 1 st from both sides);
3rd row: 32 double crochets;
4th-10th rows: main pattern.
Assembly
Sew the sleeves in the arm-holes.
Fasten the cardigan along the front and bottom with 1 row of single crochets and picot.
Step back 6 sts from the edge of neck-hole, make 41 chain sts and work with single crochets.
2nd row: 43 double crochets (increase 1 double crochet from both sides);
3rd row: 45 single crochets;
4th row: puff sts due to the scheme;
5th row: 47 double crochets;
6th row: puff sts;
7th row: 49 single crochets;
8th row: 51 double crochets.
