Crochet French Style Shawl
You’ll need:
300g of 100% merino yarn (307m/100g);
Circle knitting needles 3,5;
Markers.
Size: 33″ x 70″.
Stitches control: 1 pattern repeat = 18 sts = 9 cm.
Instructions
Cast on 12 sts with the auxiliary yarn.
Then, turn to knitting with the main yarn. Leave loose end of thread 12”.
1st row (WS): slip 1 st as purl, yarn in front of work, 4 knit sts, marker, 1 purl, marker, 1 purl from broaching, marker, 1 purl, marker, 5 knit sts. Totally, 13 sts;
Next row (= set-up row): slip 1 st as purl, yarn in front of work, 4 knit sts, 1 row due to the main scheme to the next marker, 1 st of stockinette stitch (= central st), 1 row die to the main scheme to the next marker, 5 knit sts.
Continue working due to the scheme for 35 rows, make 5 sts in the beginning and end of each of these rows with garter stitch, make the central sts with stockinette stitch. Totally, 89 sts.
Then, make the element from the 21st to the 36th rows, repeat it 8 times. You should get 377 sts. Then, work due to the scheme to the end. There are 413 sts on the knitting needles.
Make the next 11 rows with garter stitch on all the sts. Bind them off in right-side row. Take out the auxiliary yarn. Transfer 6 sts to the double pointed knitting needles, sew the sts with “stitch in stitch” seam, using the loose end, which was previously left.
