Provence Storage Unit
You’ll need:
5 squares (18 cm) of cotton fabric (glue each with woven interfacing);
5 squares (17,5 cm) for backing;
Threads;
Ladder braid (69 cm, 2 cm wide);
Bias tape (69 cm, 1 cm wide).
Instructions
Lay out the four outer squares on the work surface, face up (make sure the prints are positioned correctly). Having folded the adjacent squares face inward, chop along one side, and then stitch (1 cm allowance), not reaching 1 cm to the end of the side. Continue by adding squares and gradually forming a cube. Flatten the allowances.
Pin the last square, bottom of the box to the main part, face inward. Sew while turning gently at the corners. Flatten.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 for lining. Take the finished lining, place the inside of the outer cube with the wrong sides to each other. Align sections and seams and chip. Sweep with 5 mm allowance.
If desired, sew the braid at a distance of 8 mm from the edge. Work the edges of the box with an oblique inlay, thus covering the upper edge of the tape.
