Butterfly Knit Stitch

1st row: 1 selvedge st, 5 knit sts, slip 5 sts without knitting them, yarn in front of work (broaching), 1 selvedge st;

2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th rows: purl;

3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th rows: as 1st row;

10th row: make a butterfly - 1 selvedge st, 2 purls, insert right-hand needle behind work, through 5 broachings, catch all of them and transfer to the left-hand knitting needle, purl5tog, 1 purl, throw the previous st through the last (as a result, you should get 1 st out of 2), 7 purls, 1 selvedge st;

11th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th rows: 1 selvedge st, slip 5 sts to the right-hand needle without knitting (=broaching), 5 knit sts, 1 selvedge st;

12th, 14th, 16th, 18th rows: purl;

20th row: 1 selvedge st, 7 purls, insert right-hand needle behind work, through 5 broachings, catch all of them and transfer to the left-hand knitting needle, purl5tog, 1 purl, throw the previous st through the last (as a result, you should get 1 st out of 2), 1 selvedge st.
