Take your finished motif and place it on the front of the small drawstring loop. Sew it on using the yarn tail to join.

Assembly:
Place both panels of your bag together, RS facing. Using your needle and yarn tails, sew the sides of your bag together (Rows 6-22). Next, sew the bottom of Row 1 of both panels together. View diagram below. Next, we are going to sew the bottom corners together. Open up each corner of the bag and line up the side seam with the bottom seam. Sandwich together and sew across to close.

Next, with your bag RS out, Join yarn with a Sl St to the stitch to the left of one of the side seams. Work 1 Sc Stitch in each St around the top of the bag. When you reach the Ch-3 Sps, you will work 3 Sc into the space (not the actual Ch’s). Join with a Sl St to the first St made. (82 Sc)
Next, take your strap and line it up with the first side seam. You will want to place it about 1.5” down on the inside of the bag. Seam the edge of the strap in a square shape to join. Repeat the same thing on the other side, be sure that your strap is not twisted.

Take your drawstring cord and weave it in and out of the 8 Ch-3 Sps of Row 22. Begin in the center left Sp and end on the center right Sp.
Finally, take the drawstring loop/sun motif and thread it through both ends of the cord.

Weave in any remaining ends.
