Body

Row 1: Ch 68, dc in 7th ch from hook (counts as one dc + ch 2), *ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in following ch, rep from * across (turn) (22 dc, 21 ch 2 spaces)

Row 2: Ch 1 (does not count as st), sl st into ch-2 space, ch-5 (counts as dc + ch 2), dc in next ch-2 sp, *ch 2, dc in next ch-2 space, rep from * 17 more times, (ch 2, dc) twice in last ch-2 space, turn

Row 3: Ch 5, (counts as dc + ch 2), dc in first ch-2 space, *ch 2, dc in next ch-2 sp, rep from * 19 times, turn

Repeat Rows 2-3 26 times or until desired length

Fasten off

Ruffle

Row 1: Working along long edge of shawl, attach with a slip st in first ch-2 sp, ch 5 (counds as dc + ch 2), dc in same space, (dc, ch 2, dc) in each ch-2 sp across, turn

Row 2: Ch 1 (does not count as st), sl st into ch-2 space, ch 6 (counts as tr + ch 2), (tr, ch 2, tr) in same space, (tr, ch 2, tr, ch 2, tr) in each ch 2 space across, turn

Row 3: Ch 1 (does not count as st), sl st into ch-2 space, ch 5 (counts as dc + ch 2), (dc, ch 2, dc) in same space, (dc, ch 2, dc, ch 2, dc) in each ch-2 space across

Fasten off.

Turn shawl over and repeat ruffle along the other long edge

Weave in ends.
