Make a magic circle

Round 1: ch 1, sc 12 into the circle (12) *DO NOT* pull the circle closed

*fit around the stick of the honey dipper and tighten, slip off stick to continue rounds

Tufts

In Cream, use a single strand of pre-cut yarn, sew through the head between round 2 and 3, tie off, twist the two strands together and allow them to wrap around themselves, sew in ends

Row 1: in Cream, ch 2, sc 4 in the second ch from the hook (4)

Row 2: ch 1, turn, sc 1, [sc 2] twice, sc 1 (6)

Row 3: ch 1, turn, sc 1, [sc 2], sc 2, [sc 2], sc 1 (8)

Finish off and use long tail to sew to the back of the body between rounds 5 and 6

Wing (make 2)

Row 1: in Cream, ch 2, sc 4 in the second ch from the hook (4)

Row 2: ch 1, turn, [sc 2] twice, sc 2 (6)

Row 3: ch1, turn, sc 5, [sc 2] (7)

Row 4: ch 5, turn, sc 1 in the second st of the row, *ch 3, sc 1, repeat from * twice, sc 2 (6)

Finish off and use long tail to sew to either side of the body between rounds 10 and 11

Talons

In Beige, ch 4, finish off, tie ends together, knot only the loose ends, sew to the bottom of the body between round 2 and 3, approximately 7 sts apart
