FO = fasten off
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dbc = double crochet
hk = hook
Beginning with the Toe in Pink:
Rd 1: ch 2, 6 in 2nd ch from hk (6)
Rd 2: 2 sc around (12)
Rd 3: (sc, 2sc) around (18)
Rd 4: (sc in 2, 2sc) around (24) — skip rd 5 to make a smaller slipper
Rd 5: (sc in 3, 2sc) around (30)
Rd 6-10: sc around (30) –skip rds 9-10 for a smaller slipper
Switch to purple
Rd 11-13: sc around (30)
You will now work in rows to create the front opening:
Row 1: Sl st in 10 st (this moves the colour change to the bottom of the slipper)
Row 2-7: Ch 1, turn, sc in 26 (26) (again, to create a smaller slipper, just skip the last 1-2 rows)
You will now create the heel flap:
Row 1: Sl st in 10 st to move toward the heel
Row 2-8: Sc in 6, ch 1, turn (Lift your heel flap to ensure the top reaches the front opening)
Switch to working in rounds
Rd 1: sc around the top of the slipper, approx 25 sc (attaching the top of the heel flap to front opening)
Sl st, FO, leaving a long end for sewing. Sew the heel gaps closed on either side.
Edging:
Rd 2: Attach dark pink to the top and sc in ea st around (25). Sl st, FO, and weave in the end.
Repeat the above to make the second slipper.
Eyes: make 4
Rd 1: with black, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk, sl st to first sc and FO (6)
Rd 2: attach white, 2 sc in each sc around, sl st to first sc and FO, leaving a long end for sewing (12)
Sl st brown between the black and brown, going around the circle by working the hook through the eye from the front to the back
Embroider white sparkle
Sew two eyes per slipper, midway between the colour change of pink and purple.
Beek (make 2) in orange:
Ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hk, hdc, dbc ch 1 and FO, leaving a long end to sew. Sew on each slipper between the eyes
Ears (make 4) in pink
Rd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk (6)
Rd 2: (sc, 2sc) around (9)
Rd 3-4: sc around (9) sl st, FO, leaving a long end for sewing
Tie pink, purple and dark pink to the tip of the ears. Trim to the desired length
Sew two ears on each slipper.
To create a none slip bottom, try dabbing hot glue spots!
And that’s it!
