You will need;
Cotton DK weight yarn in your choice of colour
3.5mm crochet hook
Wool needle
Ribbon
Stitches and Abbreviations
Sl st –slip stitch
dc – double crochet
Present box
make a magic ring and work 4dc into the ring. 4 sts
Rnd 1: 3dc in each st to the end: 12sts
Rnd 2: dc in the first st, (3dc in the next st, dc in the next two sts) repeat twice more, 3dc in the next st, dc in the last st. 20sts
Rnd 3: dc in the first two sts, (3dc in the next st, dc in the next four sts) repeat twice more, 3dc in the next st, dc in the last two sts. 28sts
Rnd 4-12: dc in each st to the end.
Fasten off and weave in any loose ends.
Base
Using the same yarn work the box pattern to round 3
Stuff with foam or toy stuffing and sew on the base to close the box. Weave in and cut off any loose ends.
Decorate by wrapping with sparkly ribbon and add a hanging loop if you want these to hang on your tree.
