Crochet Leon the Bear

What do you need:

- four colours of yarn: beige, orange, light yellow and dark yellow (in my work it’s Alize Bella)
- crochet 3 mm
- a bit of black yarn to decorate the muzzle
- brown safety eyes 8 mm
- polyester fiberfill
Amigurumi size: about 15 cm
sc – single crochet
inc – increase (two sc in one stitch)
dec – decrease (one sc in two stitches)

HEAD (beige yarn)
1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
2: (inc) repeat 6 times (12)
3: (1 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (18)
4: (2 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (24)
5: (3 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (30)
6: (4 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (36)
7: (5 sc, inc) repeat 6 times (42)
8-14: 42 sc – 7 rounds
15: (5 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (36), install safety eyes between 10 and 11 round
16: (4 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (30)
17: (3 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (24)
18: (2 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (18), stuff and leave a long tail for sewing

MUZZLE (beige yarn)
1: 8 sc in magic ring
2: (inc) repeat 8 times (16)
3: 16 sc, cut off the yarn, leave a tail for sewing

EARS (beige yarn)
1: 6 sc in magic ring
2: (inc) repeat 6 times (12)
3-4: 12 sc – 2 rounds
5: fold and sew with sc (6), leave a tail

LEGS (start with beige yarn)
1: 8 sc in magic ring (8)
2: (inc) repeat 8 times (16)
4-6: 16 sc – 3 rounds, change yarn colour to orange
7: 16 sc in all stitches (16)
8: 14 sc, dec (15)
9-11: 15 sc – 3 rounds
12: (4 sc, inc) repeat 3 times (18)
Make two legs. Cut the yarn in first leg, continue crocheting with yarn from the second leg. You should work around both legs now, to make a body.

BODY
13: 36 sc around both legs (36)
14: (8 sc, inc) repeat 4 times (40)
15-17: 40 sc in all stitches – 3 rounds, change yarn colour to light yellow
18: 40 sc In all stitches
19: 40 sc in back loops of the previous round
20-21: 40 sc In all stitches – 2 rounds, make sc until the place on the side, under the bear’s arm, then change yarn colour to dark yellow 

From this place change yarn colour after every round to make stripes in light and dark yellow:

22 (dark yellow): 40 sc
23 (light yellow): (6 sc, dec) repeat 5 times (35)
24 (dy): 35 sc
25 (ly): (5 sc, dec) repeat 5 times (30)
26 (dy): 30 sc
27 (ly): (4 sc, dec) repeat 5 times (25)
28 (dy): 25 sc
29 (ly): 23 sc, dec (24), stuff legs and body
30 (dy): 24 sc, cut of the dark yellow yarn
31 (ly): (2 sc, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
32-33: 18 sc – 2 rounds, cut off the yarn

TAIL (beige yarn)
1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
2: (inc) repeat 6 times (12)
3: 12 sc
4: (dec) repeat 6 times (6), leave a tail for sewing

ARMS (start with beige yarn)
1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
2: (inc) repeat 6 times (12)
3-4: 12 sc – 2 rounds, change yarn colour to light yellow
5: 12 sc in all stitches
6: 10 sc, dec (11)
7: 9 sc, dec (10)
8-17: 10 sc – 10 rounds
18: fold and sew with sc (5), leave a tail for sewing
