Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in the same st as join and in each st around, join. (12 sc)
Round 3: ch 1, 2 sc in the same st as join, 1 sc in the next st, *2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st, repeat from * around, join. (18 sc)
Round 4: ch 1, 2 sc in the same st as join, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, *2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, repeat from * around, join. (24 sc)
Round 5: ch 1, 2 sc in the same st as join, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, *2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, repeat from * around, join. (30 sc)
Rounds 6 – 13: ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as join and in each st around, join. (30 sc)
Round 14: ch 1, sc dec over same st as join and the next st, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, *sc dec over the next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, repeat from * around, join.(24 sc)

Face (use light brown yarn):
Round 1: ch 7, sc in the second chain from hook and in each of the next 4 chains, 3 sc in the next chain, rotate nose but don’t turn, working in the bottom of the foundation chain, 1 sc in each of the next 4 chains, 2 sc in the first chain, join in the first sc of this round. (14 sc)
Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in the same st as join, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, 2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st, 2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, 2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in the next st, join. (18 sc)
Rounds 3 - 4: ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as join and in each st around, join. At the end of round 4, join in the front loop of the first sc. (18 sc)
Round 5: ch 1, working in the front loop only, sc in same st as join and in each of the next 7 sts. (8 sc)
Round 6: ch 1, turn, sc in each of the next 8 sts. (8 sc)
Round 7: ch 1, turn, sc dec over first 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, sc dec over the last 2 sts, finish off, stuff and sew to head.
Ears
Inside of ear (use light brown yarn and make 2)
make an adjustable ring, ch1, 6 sc in ring, join. Leaving a long tail for sewing, finish off.(6 sc)
Outer ear (use dark brown yarn and make 2)
Round 1: make an adjustable ring, ch1, 6 sc in ring, join.(6 sc)
Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in the same st as join and in each st around, join. (12 sc)
Round 3: ch1, working from left to right, rev sc in each st around, join, finish off.
Sew inner ear to outer ear and then sew the whole thing to the side of the monkey’s head.
Nose (use light brown yarn)
Row 1: ch 2, 3 sc in the second chain from hook, ch 2, 3 sc in the second chain from hook, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: working in the front loops only, sl st in first sc, sc in the next st, sc dec over next 2 sts, sc in the next st, sl st in the last st, leaving a tail long enough for sewing, finish off. Sew to the monkey’s face.
Thumbs/ Toes (use light brown and make 4)
Round 1: make an adjustable ring, ch1, 4 sc in ring, join.(4 sc)
Round 2: ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as join and in each st around, join and finish off. (4sc)
Arms (make 2)
Round 1: (use light brown yarn) make an adjustable ring, ch1, 4 sc in ring, join.(4 sc)

Round 23: ch 1, skip the first st, 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts, sl st in the next st, leaving a tail long enough for sew ing, finish off. Finish stuffing and sew a thumb to the hand. Sew arms to the side of the monkey.
Legs (make 2)

Tummy (use light brown yarn)
Round 1: ch 9, sc in the second chain from hook and in the next 7 chains, rotate but don’t turn, working in the bottom of the foundation chain, sc in each of the next 8 chains, join. (16 sc)
Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in the first st, sc in each of the next 6 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 6 sts, 2 sc in the last st, join. Leaving a tail long enough for sewing, finish off. Sew the tummy to the front of the monkey.(20 sts)
Tail
Round 1: make an adjustable ring, ch1, 4 sc in ring, join.(4 sc)
Rounds 2 - 23: ch 1, 1 sc in the same st as join and in each st around, join and finish off. Sew tail to back of the monkey. (4sc)
Embroider the eyes onto the monkey’s face.
