Materials:

RH 4 ply Color A Aran, Color B Country Rose, Color C Country Blue

Crochet Hook: Size E or size needed for gauge for Rnds 1-6, Size G for Rnd 7-11

Gauge: Each Square = 6"

Note:

1. Each Bullion St. should be 1" long.

2. Skill level: Advanced.

Pattern Stitches

Bullion Stitch (Bullion):

yo 15 times LOOSELY, EVENLY, insert hook into next sc, yo, draw through all 17 loops, (wiggling the hook and rolling the yarn back and forth) - Bullion made.

Cluster Stitch (CL):

(yo, draw up lp in ring or sp) twice; yo, draw through 4 lps on hook, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook-CL made.

Petal stitch (petal st):

Working loosely yo, draw up lp in each of 2 sps indicated, yo and draw through all 4 lps on hook-petal stitch made

Puff stitch (puff st):

(yo, insert hook in ch3 sp, draw up loop) 5 times, yo, draw through 10 loops, yo, draw through 2 loops-puff stitch made

Instructions

Center

W/ Color B and size E hook
Ch 6, join with a sl st to form a ring

Round 1:

ch 1, 11sc in ring, join w sl st

Round 2:

ch 1, 15 sc worked in ring over sts in round 1, join w/sl st. FO

Rnd 3:

Join Color A in back of any sc, ch 5, *[Bullion Stitch in next sc, ch 3]* Repeat from * to * around, Join in third ch of ch 5. 16 bullion tubes

Round 4:

sl st in long string behind bullion, [ch 2, sl st in next long string] around. ch 2, sl st in first sl st. FO

Round 5:

W/ Color C join in ch 3 sp between bullions. Ch 1, working in front of ch 2 sps of previous row, work * in ch 3 sp between bullion sts, 2 sc, puff stitch, ch 1* repeat from * to * around. Join w/ sl st.


Round 6:

Cont with color C ch 4. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next chain, dc in next. Sl st in next ch1 sp, continue around. Join w/sl st to sl st. FO
CHANGE TO SIZE G

Round 7:

Working behind last rounds join MC in any ch 2 sp; in same sp work (CL, ch 2, CL) - corner made; ch1;*# petal st (see Pattern Stitches) over same sp and next sp; ch 1 #; rep from # to # 3 times more ; in same sp work (CL, ch2, CL) - corner made; ch 1*; continue from * to * around, working last petal st in last ch2 sp and first ch2 sp. Join w/ sl st.

Round 8:

Sl st in next ch 2 sp, in same sp work corner; ch 1, (petal st over same sp and next sp, ch 1) 6 times; * in same sp work corner; ch 1, (petal st over same sp and next sp, ch 1) 6 times; rep from *twice more; join in top of first CL.

Round 9:

Sl st in next ch 2 sp, in same sp work corner; ch 1, (petal st over same sp and next sp, ch 1) 8 times; * corner in same sp; ch 1, (petal st over same sp and next sp, ch 1) 8 times; rep from *twice more; join in top of first CL.

Round 10:

Sl st in next ch 2 sp, in same sp work corner; ch 1, (petal st over same sp and next sp, ch 1) 10 times; * corner in same sp; ch 1, (petal st over same sp and next sp, ch 1) 10 times; rep from *twice more; join in top of first CL. FO

Round 11:

W/ Color C work 3 sc in corners, sc 20 st evenly across each side.

Finish off and weave in all ends.
