You'll need:

500 g of thin wool yarn;
Hook 2.

Instructions

Start crochetting your shawl due to the scheme A. Crochet all the rows, united in 3 groups. Then crochet rows due to the scheme B and first 3 rows of 4th group. Crochet 10 rows in 4th group. Then crochet 15 rows due to the pattern of 2nd group (with bigger quantity of patterns).

Then crochet "pineapple" on each waver (3rd group). Then repeat rows one more time on more patterns. Finish with 3 rows of single crochets. Crochet the upper part of your shawl wih single crochets.

Yes, I'm the same. I can only crochet from written patterns. And there are beautiful things here I'd love to make.

There are instructions on how to follow a crochet diagram, it makes sense if I go slowly. I also have to remember I turn what I’m crocheting at the end of each row but I don’t turn the diagram, it’s made to go to the next row when I finish one. They’re a little bit of a challenge but with time we can learn to read them. I’m 66 years old, I’d much rather follow a written pattern but things are changing. If I find a new blanket or shawl I want to make it’s up to me to learn to read diagrams. Thank you for letting me give my opinion, good luck to all crochets who are trying to keep up with the changes.
