Rows 2- 26: Hdc in the back loop only of each hdc across; ch 1, turn. (40 hdc)
Row 27: Hdc in the back loop only of each hdc across; do not turn. (40 hdc)
Edging
Round 1: Working along the side of the dishcloth, sc in the side of row 27, (ch 3, skip next row, sc in the side of the next row) 13 times, ch 3, sc in the base of the first st on the foundation row, (ch 3, skip next 2 sts on the foundation row, sc in the next st on the foundation row) 13 times, ch 3, sc in the side of row 1, (ch 3, skip next row, sc in the side of the next row) 13 times, ch 3, sc in the first st on row 27, (ch 3, skip next 2 sts on row 27, sc in the next st on row 27) 13 times; ch 1, join with a hdc in the first sc to form the first corner sp of the next round. Round 2: Ch 3 to count as the first dc, work 4 more dc in the first corner sp, sc in the next ch-3 sp, (5 dc in the next ch-3 sp, sc in the next ch-3 sp) 6 times, *9 dc in the next ch-3 sp for corner, sc in the next ch-3 sp, (5 dc in the next ch-3 sp, sc in the next ch-3 sp) 6 times* Repeat from * to * 2 times, 4 dc in the first corner sp; join with a sl st in the top of the beginning ch-3.
