Worsted weight yarn, in 3 colors of choice (Models created with Premier Ever Soft yarn in Linen, Off-White, and Tan, and Caron Simply Soft in Soft Peach)
Size G/6 (4.25mm) crochet hook

Size/Gauge:
Finished model squares measure 6” across.
Gauge: 8 hdc sts=2”

5 hdc rows=2”

Stitches Used/Abbreviations:
Ch-chain
Rnd-round
Sc-single crochet
Hdc-half double crochet
Dc-double crochet
Sl st-slip stitch

*Note~ALL joins should be made in the top of your beginning ch, for each round.

Instructions:
Rnd 1:
With Color A, ch 7. Sc in 1st ch (farthest from the hook). *Ch 6. Sc in same st*. Repeat (*) 3 times more, for a total of 5 loops. Sl st in same st.
Rnd 2: ch 2 (counts as 1st dc). Work 3 sc in next loop. *Dc in sc st between loops. Work 3 sc in next loop*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (20 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1. *Sc in next st. Work 2 sc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (30 sts)
Rnd 4: ch 1. *Sc in each of the next 2 sts. Work 2 sc in next st*. Repeat (*) around. Join. (40 sts) Fasten off Color A. Join Color B.
Rnd 5: ch 1. Sc in same st as joining. Sc in next st. *Ch 9. Skip 6 sts. Sc in each of the next 4 sts*. Repeat (*) around to last 2 sts. Sc in each of the last 2 sts. Join. (16 sts+4 ch 9 spaces)
Rnd 6: ch 1. Sc in each of the next 2 sts. *Work {4 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 4 sc} all in next ch 9 space. Sc in each of the next 4 sts*. Repeat (*) around to last 2 sts. Sc in each of the last 2 sts. Join. (60 sts)
Rnd 7: ch 1. Hdc in each of the next 7 sts. *Work 3 dc in next st. Hdc in each of the next 14 sts*. Repeat (*) around to last 7 sts. Hdc in each of the last 7 sts. (68 sts) Drop Color B. Join Color C.
Rnd 8: ch 1. Sc in each of the next 8 sts. *In next st, work {sl st, ch 2, 3 trc, ch 2, sl st}. Sc in each of the next 16 sts*. Repeat (*) around to last 8 sts. Sc in each of the last 8 sts. Join. (64 sts+4 fan shell clusters) Fasten off Color C. Pick up Color B.
Rnd 9: ch 1. Hdc in each of the next 9 sts. Ch 2, skip 1 st. Work 3 sc in 2nd trc st. Ch 2, skip 1 st. *Hdc in each of the next 17 sts. Ch 2, skip 1 st. Work 3 sc in 2nd trc st. Ch 2, skip 1 st*. Repeat (*) around to last 8 sts. Hdc in each of the last 8 sts. Join. (80 sts+8 ch 2 spaces)
