Skill Level: Easy

Required Supplies:

  • RED HEART Super Saver: 1 skein 991 Desert Camo
  • Susan Bates Crochet Hook: 4mm [G-6 US] and 5mm [H-8 US]
  • Yarn needle

Additional Supplies Needed:

2 plastic cord locks (optional for Drawstring Cord)

Guys and gals alike will enjoy the comfy warmth of this crochet cowl. Single crochet is worked into the back loops for easy-fit ribbed styling.

GAUGE: 14 sc = 4” (10 cm); 16 rows = 4” (10 cm) in ribbed pattern.

CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Cowl measures 10” (25.5 cm) long x 15” (38 cm) circumference.

COWL

With larger hook, ch 39.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; turn—38 sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, working in back loops only, sc in each sc; turn.

Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 15” (38 cm) or desired circumference. Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing.

FINISHING

Sew first and last Rows together. Weave in ends.

DRAWSTRING CORD

With smaller hook, work as many ch as needed for 36” (91.5 cm) Cord or desired length. Fasten off. Thread ending tail

of Cord.
