Relief Pattern Cowl
You’ll need:
100g of 100% Alpaca yarn (175m/50g);
Circle knitting needles 4 and 4,5 (60 cm long) – two sets of each number.
Size
Bottom circumference: 76 cm;
Upper circumference: 60 cm;
Height – 45 cm.
Used Patterns
Stockinette stitch: all knit sts;
Relief pattern: due to the scheme.
Stitches control: relief pattern: 20 sts = 10 cm.
Instructions
Cast on 153 sts with knitting needles 4,5 (use both sets). Knit around:
1st row: purl;
2nd row: knit;
3rd row: purl.
Work due to the scheme M.1 from the next row: repeat the pattern x 4 times, finish with 1 st of stockinette stitch.
Make full vertical pattern repeat due to the scheme M.1. There are 137 sts in work. Change to knitting needles 4 and make pattern due to the scheme M.2 on the sts of the scheme M.1. The last st remains stockinette stitch. Make 4 vertical pattern repeats due to the scheme M.2. Then, work due to the scheme M.3. The last st of the row – stockinette stitch. After knitting 1 vertical pattern repeat due to the scheme 3, you should get 121 sts.
In the end, make 3 rows:
1st row: purl;
2nd row: knit;
3rdrow: purl.
Bind off the sts loosely as knit sts.
