Crochet Lace Headband

Materials:

  • Size H, 5.00 mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Medium weight yarn (size 4), I used Yarn Bee Fresh Haven in “pink”. It’s 100% tencel and very soft. A cotton yarn or cotton blend would work nicely too. About 2 oz needed.

3 + 5

Abbreviations:

st(s)- stitch(es)

ch- chain

hk- hook

sc- single crochet

sl st- slip stitch

sp- space

sc2tog- single crochet two together

Body:

Ch 65

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hk and each st to end (64).

Rows 2-3: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across (64).

Row 4: Ch 5, turn, *sk next 3 sts, sl st in next st, ch 5*, ending with a sc in last st (64).

Row 5: Ch 5, turn, *sl st in ch 5 sp from last row, ch 5,* ending with a sl st in last sp (64).

Rows 6-9: Repeat row 5.

Row 10: Ch 1, turn, sc 5 into each sp across, ending with a sc in last sp (64).

Rows 11-12: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across (64).

Sides:

continue to sc 10 evenly down the side of the headband.

Rows 1-5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across (10).

Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next 6 sts, sc2tog (8).

Row 7: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st around (8).

Row 8: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog (6).

Row 9-23: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across (6). Fasten off on last row.

Pick up at st at the other side of the headband and sc 10 evenly across.

Repeat rows 1-23. Do not fasten off. Continue to sc in each st around with 2 sc in each corner. Sl st in first st and fasten off. Weave in all ends.
