DIY the Kanga Ruana
What is a ruana? A ruana is a traditional African garment worn as a skirt or cover-up, usually made from the neck down of a thick material such as fleece, wool, or natural silk. These covers are often made with squares of fabric, but some people use crocheted strips instead. There are many different styles of ruana, but there is something soothing about the softness and warmth of the Kanga Ruana.
Materials needed:
- Yarn
- Size J (6.00 mm) crochet hook
- Darning needle
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Stitch marker (optional)
