​Crochet Striped Shawl

You’ll need:

6 skeins of coral-pink-purple sectional coloring yarn (100% merino wool; 180m/50g);

Crochet hook 4,5.

Size: 70 x 170 cm.

Stitches control: 4 chains of chain sts x 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Make 128 chain sts with crochet hook 4,5.

1^st row: make 1 single crochet in the 8^th chain st from the crochet hook, * 5 chain sts, skip 3 chain sts, 1 single crochet in the next st*; repeat from * to * = 30 chains of chain sts + chain of chain sts increase;

2^nd row: turn, 7 chain sts, 1 single crochet behind the 1^st chain of chain sts + 3 chain sts + 1 single crochet behind the same chain = 1 picot, * 5 chain sts, 1 single crochet behind the next chain, 5 chain sts, 1 picot behind the next chain of chain sts*; repeat from * to *, to the last 2 chains of chain sts, 5 chain sts, 1 single crochet behind the next chain, 5 chain sts, 1 single crochet behind the next chain;

3^rd row: turn, 7 chain sts, 1 single crochet behind the first chain, * 5 chain sts, 1 single crochet behind the next arch of 5 chain sts*; repeat from * to *, 5 chain sts, 1 single crochet behind chain of chain sts increase of the previous row;

4^th row: turn, 7 chain sts, 1 single crochet behind the 1^st chain, * 5 chain sts, 1 picot behind the next chain of chain sts*; repeat from * to *, make the last single crochet behind chain of the previous row;

5^th row: as the 3^rd row.

Repeat 2^nd-5^th rows.

Crochet straight until the length of work is about 170 cm, make the last row in the following way: turn, 5 chain sts, 1 single crochet behind the first chain of chain sts, * 3 chain sts, 1 single crochet behind the next chain of chain sts*; repeat from * to *, don’t cut the yarn, make fringe in spirals: turn and make 40 chain sts, 1 single crochet in single crochet, 3 single crochets behind chain of 3 chain sts, * 1 single crochet in single crochet, 40 chain sts, 1 single crochet in the same single crochet*; repeat from * to *.

Make fringe along the opposite side of shawl in the same way.
