Special Stitches

Beginning Feather st: Yarn over, insert hook into last ch-1 sp of previous row, yarn over and pull up a st in line with sts on the hook (3 sts on hook), yarn over, insert hook into ch-1 space one row below or skipped stitch just worked, yarn over and pull up a st in line with sts on the hook (5 sts on hook), yarn over, insert hook in next ch-1 sp, yarn over and pull up a st in line with sts on the hook, yarn over and pull through all 7 sts on the hook.

Feather st: Yarn over, insert hook into same ch-1 sp as last feather, yarn over and pull up a st in line with sts on hook (3 sts on hook), yarn over, insert hook into skipped st or ch-1 sp one row below same sp, yarn over and pull up st in line with sts on hook (5 sts on hook) yarn over, insert hook in next ch-1 sp, yarn over and pull up st in line with sts on the hook, yarn over and pull through all 7 sts on the hook.

The quantity of sts is multiple 2 + 1.

1^st row: Ch 1, htr in 1st st, *ch 1, skip next st, htr in next st, repeat from * to the end, turn;

2^nd row: Ch 1, htr in 1st st, ch 1, work a beginning feather st, ch 1, *work feather st, ch 1, repeat from * to last st, htr in remaining st, turn;

Repeat the 2^nd row.

Final row: ch 1, htr in 1st st, *htr in ch-1 sp, har in feather st: repeat from * to end, htr in last st. Fasten off.
