The quantity of sts is multiple 16 + 4 + 2 selvage sts. Start and finish every row with selvage st.

1^st row: * cross 4 knit sts to the left, 7 purls, cross 4 knit sts to the right, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to*; cross 4 knit sts to the left;

2^nd and all the even rows: due to the pattern, yarn overs – as purls;

3^rd row: * cross 4 sts to the left, purl2tog, 3 purls, purl2tog, cross 4 knit sts to the right,1 knit st, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to *, cross 4 knit sts to the left;

5^th row: * cross 4 knit sts to the left, purl2tog, 1 purl, purl2tog, cross 4 knit sts to the right, 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st, 1 yarn over, 2 knit sts*; repeat from * to *, cross 4 knit sts to the left;
